I don't know if its good or bad that I am almost fully cognoscente of what I do to make some people really dislike and continue to do it.

Actually its good. Fuck all of you, I do what I want. I do what I want!

You doubt my expert knowledge in myself?

Yeah, I think he meant cognizant?

yep. but i did like him continuing the game for extra fun's sake.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on May-07-2013 04:14:

Either way, cognoscente is a great word. I didn't know what it meant before, but the phonetics align so well with cognizant, it's not a surprising mix-up.

Posted by Joss Weatherby on May-07-2013 04:17:

No, I forgot how to spell cognizant and I spellchecked the closet word I could find hahaha.

My brain is not working today, I just sent a text that totally lacked the entire subject of what I was talking about.

Posted by Lira on May-07-2013 04:26:

I just wish the word cognificent existed.

Posted by Joss Weatherby on May-07-2013 04:32:

They both have a similar meaning in that their origin extends from the definition "to know".

Posted by Lira on May-07-2013 04:34:

I know, that's how you say "to know" in my native language

(Well, sort of)

Posted by Joss Weatherby on May-07-2013 04:35:

So yea, I didn't use an entirely wrong word, just the wrong spelling of a word that means almost the exact same thing.

Posted by Lira on May-07-2013 04:44:

Talking about knowledge, I need to say something about marriage: Now that I'm married, I'm even more puzzled as to why it even exists.

I was already committed to my girlfriend... the whole thing is just redundant. Someone should tell gay people about it

Well in most countries marriage allows you a number of legal options for things like shared property, personal rights, etc.

It is more of a legal status than a romantic status. It is a strange institution, but I think it has merit, in so much that things like raising kids and such can benefit from the legal framework that it offers.

One is a specific type of knowledge, the other means to know in general. They share a root word and history and are pronounced the same. If I had spoken the sentence out loud you'd be none the wiser (well they are pronounced slightly different, but I have never heard a person pronounce either with much of an audible difference, and yes I have heard the spelling I used in its proper form).

And that's why it's rubbish. If I'm in love/a relationship with someone, the state should listen and take our word for it. Hassle free. We already took of all that ourselves.

Sometimes I wonder if the law is written only by miserable people.

ugh, must we parade our ignorance around?

cognoscente is actually a noun; it doesn't refer to knowing, but a person who knows.

being italian i presume its pronunciation, cog-no-sen-tay is quite different to cognisant. if you haven't heard a person pronounce it differently there's a good chance they're as ignorant as you are.

dig up.

True enough for equality among sexual orientation, but surely you understand how the state has a vested interest in making sure those who are married are actually committed, at the very least in financial culpability.
