Nordlicht goes MP3

Hi all!

Finally it's done: All my Nordlicht releases are now available for download at http://www.nordlicht-music.com/download for only 0,99 per song instead of more than 6 for the vinyl or single CD! As a special trial offer, you even get your first downloaded song for only 0,49!

All songs are encoded with MP3 at 192 kbit/s so the sound quality is very good. They are not copy protected in any way, so you can burn them as often as you want and listen to them everywhere!

Hope you like the new service!

greetings
Andr aka Nordlicht

I hope so too.. at least nobody can complain now that there aren't any legal download offers and they are forced to download my tracks from KaZaA etc. =)

That's an excellent idea. I hope it goes well.

i have a question... how do you certify that mp3s so downloaded are legal? do you provide some certificate with mp3 so downloaded?

What do you mean, to certify they are legal? Why should they be illegal!? =)

Posted by m0sh on Apr-08-2003 11:19:

That's a good question! But why should you ever have to proof someone that it's a legal download? You know it's legal, I know it's legal... who should accuse you? =)

I hate to piss on the parade.

it is a good idea....if it works. but I can see a few people paying..then just putting them up on kazaa, direct connect ftp etc... just like they do with promos.

Good luck with it all tho, if people have the decency to go along with it..it could be the future

Well, the thing is... my releases are on Kazaa, Direct Connect etc. anyway, and I can't change that. But there are people who want to download MP3s LEGALLY to support the musicians. After all, if nobody buys the CD/vinyl/MP3, and everyone just downloads from Kazaa, after a while there will be no music any more, because the musicians don't earn any money and have to do something else to buy food, pay the rent etc..

Yes your right and I like what youre saying ... you know the drill and you offer for the good people legel mp3 which is awesome idea IMO , I would love to see more of this and maybe in the end this will be all over the place , because I really prefer hearing mp3s on my pc and I don't have a technics anyway so its cd's for me and its hardly in israel /:

So again goodluck and its really good that people starts trageting mp3s for good cause

Oh BTW , I just bought Within Each Of Us !!! so cool

IMO, you are taking a fantastic attitude to all this. You've aknowledged that all your tracks are on p2p, but instead of whinging about it, you've gone and done something positive, and offered them at a resonable price.

I'll try and buy them because of this.

Good luck with it, props to ya

Well.. but such a certificate is an interesting idea. I just don't know how such a certificate should look like.. any suggestions? =)

This is brilliant idea and certainly a great way forward. I've always thought something like this would be the next logical step forward.

If it was your first download, then you definitely paid only 0,49.
(Actually it's like this: I give a credit of 0,50 to everyone, and if you download for the first time, 0,99 minus 0,50 makes 0,49.. sorry for the math =))

Well, whinging about the current situation doesn't change anything, does it? =) I just see that there ARE people who would like to download high quality MP3s legally at a fair price if they just could...

And the other guys, who STILL prefer to download my releases from Kazaa and the like.. Well, maybe some day, when there is no other music any more than Britney Spears and J.Lo. and all trance musicians died out.. maybe then they will realize that it would have been better to support musicians rather than damaging them.

Trance will never die.... Maybe the artrist needs to find another job then and produce trance tracks as their hobby but new trance tunes will come out every day!!

Basically, what you are saying is:

Bread will never go away... Maybe the bakermen need to find another job then, and bake bread as their hobby, but new bread will be baken every day!

=)

Think twice...
