What are u predictions and what is or going to be the best match up in the first round.
I think the Leafs and Flyers might be good so will be like every time they meet Stars and Oilers, and the rest will be good too I bet. I hope the Ducks pull an upset, somehow on the Wings.

1st round predictions:
West
Dal vs. Edm: Edm in 7 - Always a classic matchup. Gotta cheer for my Oilers.
Det vs. Anh: Det in 5 - Detroit is just too good. They'll go deep.
Col vs. Min: Col in 6 - Colorado is just plain scary if Roy can step up.
Van vs. StL: Van in 6 - Vancouver should establish themselves.
East
Ott vs. NYI: Ott in 4 - Yashin vs. his old team... no chance.
NJ vs. Bos: NJ in 4 - Boston will be outclassed.
TB vs. Was: TB in 6 - Khabibulin will be the difference.
Tor vs. Phi: Phi in 6 - It comes down to coaching Hitchcock > Quinn
Overall, I'd expect Ottawa and Colorado to make the final four for sure along with probably Detroit and Philly.
Whatever happens, it will be an awesome couple months just like every year. Hockey has the best playoffs, hands down.

Ahhh tis playoff time again!!! Here are my predictions!
Western Conference:
(1)Dallas Stars Vs. (8)Edmonton Oilers: Edmonton in 7
Hey, I live here and I hate Dallas and E-town is feeling that vibe again, Isbister and Dvorak gotta have a huge series and Salo has to prove himself finally.
(2)Detroit Red Wings Vs. (7)Anaheim Mighty Ducks: Detroit in 4
Way too overmatched for Kariya's good, good starting series for CuJo to get used to Detroit's playoff system.
(3)Colorado Avalanche Vs. (6)Minnesota Wild: COLORADO in 5
I give them Game 3 solely on the crowd that will greet my Avs, Sakic will step up as usual.
(4)Vancouver Canucks Vs. (5)St. Louis Blues: Vancouver in 7
One of the best matchups in R1, goaltending will be a serious factor, I think Tkachuk will disappear again so the edge goes to Naslund.
Eastern Conference:
(1)Ottawa Senators Vs. (8)New York Islanders: Ottawa in 6
NYI is just too on and off, Sens should get through this round at least.
(2)New Jersey Devils Vs. (7)Boston Bruins: New Jersey in 6
This could quickly be done in 5 if NJ gets some scoring going early, Hackett will have to come up huge to take 2 games.
(3)Tampa Bay Lightning Vs. (6)Washington Capitals: Washington in 7
Best East matchup by far, never thought I'd be predicting between these 2 in the playoffs, very contingent on Jagr if he plays like he can, but I think Caps have too much with Jagr and Bondra compared to just Lecavalier.
(4)Philadelphia Flyers Vs. (5)Toronto Maple Leafs: Philadelphia in 6
I would pick Philly in 4 solely because THE MAPLE LEAFS SUCK!!! I think cokehead Belfour will fall flat on his face, if Philly can get scoring early from JL and Amonte et. al, this could be done in 5, Sundin being hurt and the Leafs being the Leafs doesn't help Toronto at all.
Overall pick: Colorado Avalanche Vs. New Jersey Devils - Colorado in 7... AGAIN!!!

NJ vs. Bos: New Jersey who do u think, the best would be in 4 but that might be really hard to do it

canucks are playing like shit today. no emotion. no desire. good thing the wings and avs have gone down with us. the nucks better crank it up a couple of notches for game 2. 
I'm not going to guess on series lengths but here are my first round predictions:

I'm Late!!! Oh well, I'll make my picks in the second round.
Some solid goaltending from J.S. Giguere and Martin Brodeur, great physical games between Toronto/Philly and Edmonton/Dallas, and last but not least THE PHENOMONAL ATMOSPHERE surrounding the NHL playoffs. Great to share this with other hockey fanatics, especially the ones from Tranceaddict.
Whoever thinks Phili will defeat Toronto needs to be shot, then shot again, then again just for good measure. Phili should stick to making cheese.

Another great game between Philly and Toronto. Hands down, the best series match-up of the first round. Finally, Tucker opens his mouth. I was surprised with all the non calls in OT. Hard to say who will come out standing on this one.
Meanwhile, the Senators barely squeaked by the Isles in OT. N.Y. had plenty of power play chances and failed to convert them into goals. As for Vancouver and St. Louis, the Nucks' better turn things around or they're gonna end up going home early.
I'm watching the Ducks vs. Wings. Giguere looks pretty good so far. Can't stand the Wings winning another Cup. Gotta go watch the 2nd period now. Hope to see a great game.
Canucks played like shit... again... Thank God Canada has Toronto
its 2-0 ducks in the 3rd!!! i can't believe this but man the ducks are awesome right now. they must have learned from our mistakes last year.
Whew!!! 2-1 Ducks over Wings. Now they're up 3-0 in the series. Giguere saves the day again!!! History has seen only two teams come back from a 3-0 deficit. So the Ducks chances of making it to the second round is near 100%.
The Red Wings still have a shot though. They are very capable of coming back to win the series. CUJO needs to be perfect for that to happen. We'll just have to wait and see.
Looks like the west is being pounded by the underdogs. The only exception are the Avs who If you recall from another thread is my pick to win the Cup. I hate them, along with the Wings. Go underdogs!!! 
i'm glad the avs look like they will come out of the first round. with the way the canucks are playing, i will probably have to jump to my 2nd favorite team again after the 1st round.
the reason why the wings aren't winning is because they only scored 3 goals in 3 games. thats asking cujo to be perfect and he isn't. that guy has never won anything major in his life. i'm just surprised the wings didn't even give the ducks a series. 3-0?

Wasn't interested in the Caps/Lightning series at all. Nice goals by Lecavalier though.
The Dallas/Edmonton series is one of my favorites. I dunno what to say about this one though. Edmonton had too many penalties and came back to tie it. The Stars scored twice more in less than 30 seconds. One of them was a lucky bounce. Edmonton is not out yet. They'll fight hard til the end.
Can't wait to see the Wings/Ducks game 4!!! Should be intense.

Congrats to the Ducks! They Sweeped the Defending Champions. How often do you get a chance to hear something like that. Giguere gives his team alot of confidence to win. It doesn't get any easier for them in the second round. They're gonna either play the Stars or the Avs. At least the Ducks will be getting their rest.
In other action, the Leafs-Flyers series went to 3OT and I didn't get to see any of it. It wasn't even aired on TV. I blame it all on Michael Jordan and his farewell game. Jordan should have retired the first time. I guess Mogilny's absence may have been an important factor for that game. We'll never know.
Looks like Ottawa is back to their winning ways. St. Louis seems to have the upper hand over the Nucks'. Minnesota did everything they could against the Avs, but Roy was just unstoppable.
Alot of games and I only get a chance to see two of them. Which reminds me! I need to get Sattelite TV and order NHL Center Ice. Maybe next year.

The only reason the flyers are now tied is because they are getting lame goals in on belfour. Once Mogolny comes back, its time to hit the Green for Phili, or go back to there cheese factories...
