Trance That Makes You Sad/Melancholy

not necessarily make you cry... but gives you that chill/shiver of "sadness"... eerily beautiful.

my original for that would be Chicane - Saltwater
and more recently Free Radical - Surreal (En-Motion Mix)... wow

and im sure someone will suggest Flesh (tiesto/tilt's going home mix)

yeah, about Saltwater (ft. Maire Brennan), are you sure it sounds melancholic? It's a very good tune for meditation, very relaxing and brings the meditator deeper into the state of peace.

To me:

Dune - who wants to live forever (trance remix)

listen carefully to the lyrics, it's sad. There was a time I couldn't listen to it anymore, there was just that sadness part of the tune I didn't like.

i meant saltwater and surreal both gave me chills, and feelings of melancholy... the vocals of marie brennan esp.
whereas the chord progression free radical uses... beautiful.

now THAT was an underrated tune.

yes im just waiting for this matt fulton to blow up, as soon as someone rips it

breathless haunting and chills.. her voice just timelessly echoes in my mind when i was in deep repose.

makes one stand back and ponder about life. The complexity and the never ending cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

damn, im just sitting here stunned, remembering it..

Probably anything by Geert Hunink & Alco Lammers (Photon Project, Dawnseekers and a few other Aliases I think ) makes me cry. I love the orchestral breakdowns. Very moving.

Yes! I simply love their tunes The orchestral parts really give me the chills. Especially their tunes under Dawnseekers, Photon Project and Threesome (with Cor Fijneman).. Only wished that they could use the chord progression in the tune after the breakdown, in those that don't. Like in Protuberance, it would be cool to build the rest of the tune on the chords in the breakdown.

But still, brillant tune by them
