Classifications of Trance

Perhaps I am the only one who has this problem, but when people start talking about progressive, uplifting, psychadelic, (etc) trance I sometimes get a little confused. Maybe someone can give me the true definition of these variations of trance.

I am pretty sure that Astral Projection and the like are psychadelic trance, but what about the rest?

For example:

Apoptygma Berzerk - Kathy's Song (Ferry Corsten Remix)
Mauro Picotto - Pulsar

Is this progressive or uplifting or what?

Maybe I am tone deaf...

Thanks!

Kathy's song is definately uplifting... pulsar can go either way IMO.

classifications are merely a guide.
you have to understand that electronic music really has no boundaries, as the reason why u may often get confused. a lot of songs get cross-bred

perhaps the best way to classify music is:

1) Stuff I like
2) Stuff I don't like

that way, there should be no confusions
