lol @ judge jules

taken from a trance.nu interview with judge jules..

Who would be your favourite DJ and producer at the moment?
In terms of producers, I think the great thing about our music is that people will have their five-minutes of fame and then they roll over and then someone else appears. Its very difficult to identify producers. Im mean... there are certain producers, like Green Martian, from Belgium, who make good records, but its actually quite difficult to identify individuals who are consistent because people seem to do well, get loads of remixes from the UK market and then completely burn out. Overexpose themselves and then just disappear.

what an idiot..

i agree, thats a pretty dumb thing to say. shows his arrogance as well...

there is some truth in his statement, but it certainly does not apply to l-vee!

Posted by [mart] on Apr-14-2003 19:12:

He's just shown himself up to be a bit of a tit, to be honest.

Posted by chesco on Apr-14-2003 22:29:

Just because thats what happened to you julesy doesn't mean it happens to everyone.

Posted by flystyler on Apr-14-2003 22:38:

Well he is right in most ways. A lot of trance producers only seem to have one big track in them, and just disappear or work with other producers. Ok there are people like armin, ferry, hiver and hammer, hybrid, etc etc who cna nock out tune after tune. But when u look at it. A lot of people r one hit wonders. But i guess thats true in most music!

Posted by Jocker on Apr-15-2003 02:05:

get your hands off jules! (and it's not referring to the previous post)

Posted by armandzadza on Apr-15-2003 02:28:

Hmm, Judge Jules is critisizing people who make a good track and burn out... What exactly is his claim to fame - Hi-Gate - Hurricane?!

I hope he makes ONE good track!

P.S. Prodigy, love your avatar, man!

why is he an idiot. he is so right about this statement. if you guys had a clue about the music industrie you would understand this.

"the faster you get to the top, the faster you are forgotten." - I won`t tell you who said this to me cause I promised not to tell, what I will till is that he is a great producer, and a great person which is not very popular like pvd, tiesto, armin and the rest.

all the best,

fox

Agreed. Jules is a huge fan of white label records which are made by these people he is refering to. I think it creates a lot of variety-- which is always good.

Posted by mndeg on Apr-15-2003 03:07:

if he thinks that trance industry is like that he knows nothing about mainstream music
everyone fades away in a year unless you are a white rapper because that caters to the majority of white people listening to rap

of course, but l-vee is hardly a one hit wonder! besides, referring to it as "a great thing" is rather hautain, it's like he's the only one that sticks around, sits in an ivory tower and watches the others come and go.. that's what made me laugh.

Posted by burns on Apr-15-2003 08:12:

Hes right, but his productions under Hi-Gate are

if you read it, he didn't say l-vee was a one hit wonder, he said he produces quality records under his green martian guise

Talking about the judge, has anyone else noticed a slight change of style in his radio show's over the past few weeks?

Posted by Breeze on Apr-15-2003 12:10:

His right about one thing, GREEN MARTIAN makes good tunes. too bad jules doesnt.

yeah, that's what I thought

Posted by Christopher B on Apr-15-2003 13:07:

I know this might be off topic, but reading the current posts made in this thread about the music scene, it's seems to me that if you are a decent DJ who cranks out more than one huge tune, you will be one of the tops in the world. Still, there is a lot of luck involved there. You may think the tune you've written is the best tune ever produced, but that's pretty meaningless if no one plays it and no one else likes it.

Anyways, now on topic. I think if some DJ that you all had respect for, like Armin or Sasha, had made that statement, you'd all be going "Yep, uh-huh. He's exactly right." As much as we love the music, I'm sure Jules knows more about the scene than any of us do.

'

I have-- Its gone from sweet to totally sweet. It's actually been for about a few weeks now where he's had a lot of change on the show--not just sticking to the same old boring format. For example his guest dj's when he was in Miami n having Tiesto n PvD on the show n shit. He's also playing some really sweet tunes like benny b- satisfaction n such. Is that what you were refering to?
