Trance makes you smarter

I have this theory that trance can stimulate your minds more than any other music out there. Studies have shown that people gain 5 IQ points listening to Mozart. Studies have shown that plants grow faster, taller, and healthier than listening to rock'n'roll. When I listen to trance, I feel as if my mind is really being expanded. Am I trippin or can you guys agree?

Also, you guys may want to do this with me, I am planning to grow a plant with trance playing 24/7 in the same room to see the results.

Make sure you also do a control (ie grow a plant with no trance) and let us know how it turns out.

Due to trance, I once again had to stay up til 5am to write a paper --which I BS'ed 'cuz I had no idea what the fuck i was talking about.

are u sure its not any drugs that help "expand" your mind? hehe j/k...no i agree, i dont know sbout being smarter per se, but i def think people who listen to trance have a greater love and passion for life, luxury, happiness...

I think trance can help stimulate the mind, and even let it grow. Classical music is supposed to help raise the IQ of person, but why? Well i think its because classical music has to do with layers, because its so subtle. You have to really listen to notice some of the fine points some times. Trance can be very similar. They both have similar qualities. And we all know trance is all about layers. Trance also incorporates classical music.
I think my mind has changed since i started listening to trance. And no its not because of the drugs. Damn drug conspiracy theories out there.

honestly, I find myself being much more creative listening to trance. Once in a while, I'll daze off into some lala land.....especially when I'm driving, but most of the time, my mind races with all these ideas.

btw: do you guys party? and if so, do you go for the music, the drugs, or the atmosphere?

for me: its the music, people, then drugs. I have more fun sober at most of these parties.

hmmmmm, what type of plant are you growing

if its true that mozart's music can raise IQ, other music can do it too, however strange it may be

as for clubs, i like the music, the atmosphere can add to it

lol, this thread is funny. Trance doesn't make you smarter. The only reason you find yourself more creative is because YOUR mind works better with something in the background. Whenever I listen to trance/prog, I can't do any work. Even talking on the phone becomes tedious because my mind is focusing on the music. This has nothing to do with intellect. Like right now, I"m listening to Sasha's Voyage of Ima, I could go study for my parapsychology final, but I'd rather this finish and then go because my brain won't take any info when there's music which I love playing.

IQ is not a measure of intelligence, its merely an 'indicator' and by such its not perfect or concrete and their can be variances in it (language barriers and such have been proven to hide peoples true intelligence, as well as people not from 'prototypical' white culture families, strange as it may (or may not) be). If you want to believe music makes you smarter go right ahead I'll keep listening cuz I can't get enough of the shit.

true, i agree with you to a certain degree, however I believe that the mind is a helluva lot more capable than what we use it for. I believe if everyone had the same education and learning experiences as the others, the IQ test will still show up with different results. And I don't think its matter of brain power or one being smarter than the other, but a mere difference in focus.

Thats why I think trance makes you smarter, it allows the brain to explore memories stored in the brain that would not normally be touched. Reason and logic is then applied to the memories to create new thoughts.
