Ultrasonic - what the ?
Hey guys, im going to attend the next utopia at the superdome ( going with a big bunch of friends who love hard trance and wont convert to uplifting, so dont give me shit
) and im checking the lineup and one of the main acts is ultrasonic. I have no idea who this dj is or what style he/she plays. Could someone give me an idea of what i can expect?? ( just info, no smart-assed comments pleez
)
Is it the old ultrasonic...that I used to listen too about 8 years ago???
If it is...then they are a group...probably PLaying live...I think a few of them are from scooter...its kinda oldskool nrg with an MC...werks quite well I guess....I loved em when I was 15.
ultrasonic had cult status amongst us underagers back in the days...with hits such as annihilating rhythm...
now there better known as public domain filling the airwaves with utter shit ......enjoy
The MC for Public Domain and Ultrasonic are the same. Ultrasonic were kinda cheesey looking back, but Annihilating Rhythm and 1-2-3-4 were pretty cool in their way.
I've still got one of their albums somewhere, so I may have to dig it out and give it a re-listen and tell you if they're any good 6-7 years on.
Ohh great..
ahh well ive still got Nervous and flipside to look forward too. They both played really great sets at PVD@GAS
man i love them
CHECK YOUR HEAD!!!!!!!

Ultrasonic were mad in their day.. they had like a cult like status... i dunno about now...
and dood... don't worry what ppl say about going to Utopia.. u wanna go, go.. u wanna live, live.. you wanna dream, dream!
Pe@ce!
Ultrasonic and Public Domain would be cool live, but it says in small writing underneath DJ SET and MC SET , so I don't know if it will be very good!
Ultrasonic did a very cool song called "Check your Head" years ago, I think... ah crap was it that long ago. The memory of a niteclub butterfly of the 90's aint so good nomore
bass : yeah ill still have an awesome time, mebbe we should start an official utopia meet up thread
, although im sure how well it would do ;P
Yeah would be mad to have a utopia/transmission meetup regularly.. but depends on what other events are happening and who's actually spinning... oh wells...
hope all goes well with the meetup im planning for au[ta]...

I think I have most of Ultra-sonic's albums and around 10 CD singles.
Their album "Tekno Junkies" is their best work, they were pioneers of rave music back around 7 or 8 years ago.
My favourite track would be "Obsession", it has an extremely euphoric raw feel, with beautiful sweeping synths and strong uplifting vocals. It's an ideal example of classic "old-school" euphoric rave music.
The track is on Central Nervous System 1 mixed by DJ Vagas. Now there's a DJ I haven't heard of in 7 years! This was back when the rave scene was in full underground swing and hardcore and happy hardcore were the sounds of the time. Remeber "Here's Johnny"?
I hated that track! Looking back, it was quite funny.
I thought Ultra-sonic had disbanded, maybe they get back together occasionally for performing. The MC is now in Public Domain.
Powerhouse events usually cater for the rave scene, who are into the hardcore and happy hardcore rather than hard trance. Hard trance will still get played, but I wouldn't say that the intended crowd is a hard trance crowd.
I'll probably go to Utopia again at the Superdome. The Superdome is a brilliant venue for a large scale dance music event. I think it's even bigger than the Vodafone arena in Melbourne, but close.
hahah central nervous system!, i remember that album from back in the day. Lucky i grew out of happy hardcore verrrry fast.
Superdome is gunna make the night i rekkon.
US IS BACK !!!!!!!!
Yes!! Yes!! Yes!!

I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!
..... but i'm French.. GRRRRrRrRrRR !!!!!

Ultra Sonic = Dave Forbes (he of el crapolla track "Questions" fame, then the dumbarse follow up "Answers" zzzzz!) & Mallorca Lee (Public Domain).
They're signed up to Central Station & thats prolly why there's all these remixes of Annihalating Boredom going on & why Australia gets these constant tours.

[j/k]
"ultrasonic" is now one guy on the decks (i dont even believe he was part of the original ultrasonic, but correct me if im wrong) and the mc from public domain. Dont be expecting anything exciting. Even when they where advertised as ultrasonic the played a 2 hour set and only dropped 3 ultrasonic songs. The last three songs of the set to be exact. If you are hoping for the ultrasonic of old, i think you are going to be dissapointed.
ive seen both live fuzzy productions brought out public domain about two years ago and hosted the party at the state sports centre i personally thought it went fkn nuts.. but some people were upset cause they thought they would play a whole lot of new stuff.
cant really remembebr ultrasonic just pretty sure ive seen them... i think they played at gas or something once (well the dj did) and went nuts but the next time they played they were boring.
all in all they are pretty cool to see at least once...
and about trance at utopia theres normally fkn ehaps like the whole main arena is trance with only two happy hard sets one from fenix normally at midnnight and a morning set by chester who somehow manages to play the eaxct same set everytime!
anys i think with the lineup for utopia music festival youll see alot of `im too cool for all age events and commerical utopias because im so underground`people attending it!
i saw ultrasonic vs public domain @ utopia in april and they kicked ass. the crowd was pumped, music was loud, mc goin nuts, lasers goin off.. all good
