au.ta mix cd?

hey guys, jus pulled an allnighter, n dun think i'll be sleepin the rest of the day but i've just had an idea. lets make a tracklist for an au.ta mix. here's how it'll work.

[1] mix will contain 15 tunes.
[2] each tune contributed in sequence
[3] each person is only permitted to contribute one tune.
[on a first come first serve basis]
[4] when contributing a tune, take into account how well it
fits into the last track, harmonics, progression and its
overall context in the mix. so dun rush n choose ne old
tune u like
[5] choose tunes that have preferably been released, new or old.

be interesting where the mix goes, but in the end, if we're all happy with the conclusion, maybe we can get one of the better djs on the board to mix it up and make a few cds. anybody who wants a copy can pay a small fee, where the moolah can go to charity? just an idea atm.

either way, lets do a tracklisting first. i'll start.

1. Mr Sam Vs Fred Baker Presents As One - Forever Waiting [original mix]

2. Grayarea - Yewminist (Sp?)

3. Pet Shop Boys - West end girls (Sasha remix)

Azzido Da Bass - Dooms Night (Timo Maas Remix)

Svenson and GIelen - We Know what u did ( Tiesto Remix) as opener

Posted by Chuck Norris on Apr-16-2003 03:06:

Shaft Punk - Squat Rock (DAVE The Drummer Tonal Shift Remix)

Posted by Renegade on Apr-16-2003 03:12:

Dunno

Funktion - Seduction (Funktion's BBQ Mix)

I've got a funny feeling these tracks aren't going to fit together all that well, just quietly.

New order - someone like you (james holden mix)

good luck.....

another idea is like ta mix competitions that have been on, someone mixes a couple of tracks and sends it on to the next TA who mixes a couple of tracks and so on, and you get a mixed cd done by TAs.

Posted by J-SiN on Apr-16-2003 04:04:

well im gunna take in2 consideration that the track needs to mix in2 the previous one well, unlike all the rest of u, so going holden style, i'd throw down

Petter - These Days

this is the biggest joke i've seen on here........u guys have no idea when it comes to mixing.....do u??

now now, j-sin, it's all in fun.

here, have a flower

Posted by J-SiN on Apr-16-2003 04:24:

bite me....

(but i'll take the flower )

Posted by JayKuE on Apr-16-2003 04:29:

k, this is a lil bit of a mess.
i didnt take into account the masses of proggie house luvers
when i posted this thread. so i'm gonna give a structure of my vision for the mix that'll try n encompass a lil of everyfin.

- start off with something in the middle a lil mellow, but has a lil bit of pump [approx 2 songs]
- from there, slow down the pace a tad, not too much with a lil bit of prog [2 songs]
- head a lil upwards with lil upbeat prog trance [3 songs]
- somehow blend that into uplifting trance, not too peaky tho. [2 songs]
- getting a lil more uplifting [3 songs]
- then taking it home with anthems galore, nu-nrg, dumonde style? *shrug* [3 songs]

lemme know what u guys think, open to suggestions.

but remember.

[4] when contributing a tune, take into account how well it
fits into the last track, harmonics, progression and its
overall context in the mix. so dun rush n choose ne old
tune u like

i'll have a listen to those other tunes suggested, but meanwhile
starting again.*fingers crossed*

rofl

I was referring to the melodica shit

Posted by julianreynolds on Apr-16-2003 07:49:

I think it would be easier to just vote for tunes then get the results and decide on the progression (sequencing). Armin "state of trance"style. anyone agree otherwise you will be arging forever and the best selection wont be chosen.
