Turntables & CD Players?
I'm not really educated on the DJ thing yet but I wanna know what is the purpose of having both turntables and table-top cd players when u play. How does it all mix together? How do u connect all these together? I'm seeing more and more djs with cd players right beside thier tables'....? Explain somebody please.
The cd players are plugged into the mixer as well as the turntables. Seems like more and more people are using CD-R's for tracks they can't find on vinyl or haven't been released yet.

heh
well now boys personally, i think if u cant find it on vinyl then u shouldnt spin it.....im not a big fan of the cd--dj.

Well I happen to like vinyl but I have never used a cd player to mix with so I'm biased. Using cdrs is fine by me as long as the songs contained on them are ones you have purchased. When it comes to the subject of songs that are nowhere to be found on vinyl, I always wish there were label-run sites where you could pay to d/l the song or something like that because it's just not fair sometimes...

I use my CD players for tracks I made myself
or for intros & stuff (acapellas, special remixes, effects, ...)
By any means necessary
If you can't find it on vinyl you shouldn't spin it?
Laughable. I will not limit myself in that fashion. If the killer track of the year is only released on 8 track, I will buy a top-notch 8 track player in order to convert it to a more convenient format: compact disc.
I've said it before & I'll say it again.... if you can rock the house, you can rock the house. Doesn't matter if you're using tape, cd, vinyl, keyboards, drum machines, whatever....
Cheers...
