Equilibrium!

Hey guys how many of you here have seen this movie..i just saw it , and my god it rocked..

Christian Bale was great as Cleric (john Preston), as was Taye Diggs. The action scenes were first rate even better then the matrix in some terms, and they introduced an inventive style of Martial arts with Guns, called (GUN KATA). The Story was enveloping, and gave us insight towards how a society would be like if we were restricted from "feeling" any emotions.

The only quibbles i really had with the movie is that, Sean Bean and Emily Watson were underused. I would have liked to have seen more of them, but overall my expectations for this movie were met...and then some

Ever since seeing American Psycho I realized what a genius actor Christian Bale is. I've yet to see this movie but will soon. Thanks for the reminder. A Christian Bale movie cannot dissapoint!

Gun Kata rocks! I wonder if that will get developed as a martial art? It sounds like a smart idea.

I love it when he get's caught with the dog.. my god that was some good action.
And when he uses his guns as hammers. That was pure coolness!

its about society after WW3 that is based on having no emotions.... they have this way of thinkin becuase it will help prevent anger and hatred which leads to war.. so there is a group which goes aroudn killing all the "sense offenders" and christian bale.. the lead actor... who is a "cleric" ( a high position in society ) begins to have emotions.. and so he basically wants to get rid of the whole system and help the "Resistance" ( all the underground society-or people with emotions) overcome and rule again.

after seing this i would have absolutely loved the tune Prime Mover - Feel What I Feel to be played right as an action seen started.. it woulda made so much sense if u watched the movie and woulda just kicked ass!! woot!! everyonne go see this movie.

pretty easy to sum this movie up: AWESOME action sequences, horrible plot. It just seemed like really bad acting except for teh guy from American Psycho. But the action TOTALLY makes up for it, TOTALLY.

Oh and the action is exactly opposite of the Matrix in terms of speed. The Matrix slows down its scenes... Equilibrium speeds em up like crazy. If you like action get this!

As an action flick its not bad, the gun kata stuff is pretty cool, but the story rips alot from 1984 amongst other stuff, so you cant really call it a compelling ot original plot.

i agree the story is not original (but what ones are nowadays, they all follow a general format) however it did PORTRAY a somewhat orwellian world very very nicely! at the start it was so cold, bleak and grey!

i definately wish sean bean was used more, you could tell at the start where he steps out of the car he was MADE to play a person devoid of emotion. perhaps he would have been better suited as the character that the black guy played - because i didnt think he did too well.

one of the best movies i've ever seen, up there with my all time favourites

its good not only for the action but for the storyline as well...really makes u think how we abuse our sense of feeling

cos it was made as a low budget/indie film..

hahah...that so wierd..look at all teh special effects used in it...

lol...the pic in my avatar is me..lol

the one in the signature is Elisa bridges (died in 2002)...i changed her hair colour, lip and eye colour as well..she used to be blonde
