Well, it's very old.
But also one of the best Tiesto-CD's.
I understand that its "VERY" old.
But it's also good to remind people of it, or for the newer people too, who weren't around when it was new. Old or not, its still great music.

Definitely old, but also an incredible set - for me this is one of those "timeless" mixes, kinda like Oakenfold's Goa mix on Radio1's Essential Mix back in 94, or FSOL's essential mix back in 93, or Moby's mix in 94 (Crazzzzzy turntablism going on there, it's fuckin incredible
)or even BT's 97 mix. As time goes on the tracks will grow old but the mixes will never fail to amaze me as much as they did the first time I heard them.
Great album. Classic.
However, I have an issue with it. Maybe its just me, but do they not sound almost identical but different order of tracks: ISOS, Majik Six, and Summerbreeze?

This is probably my favourite tiesto album ever. It was also the first tiesto album i ever heard, so it holds a special place in my heart
.
i would say this would only just be squeezed out in 'favouriteness' by magik6.
Lets look at what makes this album so great:
1. Great intro: "Dido". great calming 1.5 minutes in the beginning. i love the astronauts voice-over as well. then the trance groovin' starts up and doesn't let down the rest of the first track.
2. "dreaming". a great mix. awesome mid-track climax around [2:14]. couldn't be in a more perfect spot.
3. "Going up" and "Light over me" are two more great tracks. just makes you want to stand up higher than everyone else in the club and go nuts.
4. "Dark Blue" has some great sounds.
5. "Sparkles". and i thought the original mix was good! Holy Cow! [Transa] kicked ass on this one. Possibly one of the best tracks on the CD.
6. and a great conclusion w/ "Wonder?" almost sums up what the whole album has sounded like all in the last 6 minutes.
what a great choice of tracks.
First- I am not sure what label it was released on. I forget. So it could very well be Nettwerk like someone said.
Anyway, In "Dido" , the piece played in the intro, I KNOW its some famous work. I CANT remember what it is though. Does anyone know the name of it?

Not EVERYONE thinks that. It's the best that I have heard so far. I am sure I haven't been into trance as long as most people on here, so when i first heard those tracks could have been at LONG after you did. I'm not speaking for everyone here. Just me. sURE, I heard a few of the tracks before, but not all.
(Thanks InsomnEac. I was debating whether I got the title right or not, figures that I didn't get it. oh well, next time.)
~~~Paula~~~
I dunno I wasnt impressed with this as I am some of Tiesto's other works. I dunno maybe its because when I listened to it for the first time all these tracks were like 3 years old, so I cant really judge it correctly.
This album was probably one of the first trance albums i had heard when i got interested in trance/techno music. Even tho the actual songs were a few years old (by the time i heard them at least), i had never heard them before (or if i had heard them , i didn't remember); so it was "new" to me, and i thought it was absolutely kickass from the beginning.
this is a blast from the past.
the release was targeted for the american market.
definitely had the classic feel, which i'm sure is obvious from the tracklist.
hehe, from what i can remember, the mixing on this was quite good compared to magik 1-5 and isos 2-3. i hear nyana's mixing is horrendous. oh well, typical tiestoooooo. 5 stars for track programming tho. each dj has their pros n cons lol
Paula, you're pretty hot! I bet you have a boyfriend!!
Lol i can already see this will be a debate of Americans vs. Dutchies and Britons. All i have to say is the tunes on Summerbreeze/Magik 6 are briolliant, and whichever you heard them on first will be the CD of your choice. Since Summerbreeze was indeed released on Nettwerk (BT's label) for an American audience, we here in the states love it more than Magik 6 which never saw the shelves of US record stores. If i lived in Holland and heard magik 6 way be4 Summerbreeze, i would like Magik 6 better.
Anyway, about the CD, i absolutely LOVE IT from start to finish, except for 'Silence,' since it was so bloody overplayed. I never liked it too much neway. My highlights are:
1)Aria - Dido (Armin's Universal Religion Mix) <--- one of Armin's best 2 remixes!!!!!!!!
2) DJ Tiesto - Sparkles (Transa Mix) <-- Tiesto's AND Transa's best work EVER. Period. Top 10 all time tune for me, i loe Summerbreeze for it.
3) Major Leauge - Wonder? <--- i prefer the vocal mix but this is still top quality.
and the only other thing i wanted to say that, though this was not my first trance compilation (That dubious honor belongs to Trance NAtion 2 by ferry corsten) it is to this day one of my favorites.
Yeah...
Aria, Wonder?, and Sparkles (transa mix) were great , but Far From Over is growing on me. I have yet to hear the original. I only heard that oLIVER Lieb miX on the CD.
*Excuse me if I start some nationalist feud
I dont think we have that problem. IS Magik 6 better? I don't know.
Oh I agree...Live @ Innercity was the first trance set I've ever heared and it remains my all-time favourite trance set next to Ferry @ Energy 2000.
However I guess I'm one of the very few Tiesto loving TAs who simply don't love the Tiesto @ Energy 2000 set except for the first track, More n more by Spoiled & Zigo ![]()
new sound?
Everyone keeps talking about this ''new sound'' Tiesto has. Anyone care to enlighten me on what they mean and just basically explain that to me? Is the new sound better or what? I know Nyana was just released- I need to decide whether to BUY it or not....
