what do you guys think of my tracklist?
im going to make a demo cd pretty soon....this is waht i have so far
*not in order
nu nrg - supersonik way
ayu - unite (airwave remix)
holden - nothing (93 returning mix)
sasha - wavy gravy (pvd remake)
4 strings - let it rain (original)
mesh - purple haze
noemi - you (mezziah remix)
space brothers everywhere i go (pvd remix)
aalto - rush (super 8 mix)
scott bond vs. solarstone 3rd stone
*in order (they sound perfect with each other)
sasha - wavy gravy (pvd remake)
jamensia - my memory is back
But if you guys think i should add certain songs that sounds pefect with each other then let me know.....thanks
I think you need to grab some tunes that no other big DJ raped everyweek, what have you got to offer other than a exact set from Armin ?
Bit more variation may turn a few heads !
indeed go with ya own style
i'll have to agree
a set full of big tunes will get a dancefloor moving
but that's if you're a headliner
build your set
tell a story even
i suggest start light and build to a climax
like burns said
why offer them a set they could hear from armin
develop your own style
try looking for those tunes no one is raping
the best place to look is the white labels section in your local record shop
i've found many a gem in there that no one is playing
thanks for your comments but im not a pro. DJ, i just DJ for fun. I mean who care if armin's been raping them? If I play this set at a party/rave, people will not say "holy shit, armin's been raping these songs, so lets not dance?" In my opinion it's all about having a good time, and from where i come from. people dont even know mesh - purple haze......
Not bad if you're just starting out.

take out wavy gravy, cos its patta
i second taking out wavy gravy
one or two classics from BACK in the day wont hurt either.
personallike soft synths too much, but certein djs do it for me. Whe it comes to spinning, do what you like. Don't spin anything that you hate (for example dj sammy[since ppl hate him on ta]) What ever style or artist u really like play them. I think the tracklisting is good imo. But someone who like really hard trance might not like it. Some ppl like the scott projust sets so sdon't try to to please everyone , because some ppl like cheese and some like hard trance. some like epic so it s all about u when it comes down to it. Do u think atb cares what ppl thinks about what he spend?ly I don't

If it's just for personal use then put whatever you goddamn want on it. But as others have said for a demo cd dig a little deeper.
have just seen your sig - follow your own path indeed.

| Originally posted by GelatinPufF okay now you may think a club owner wants to hear variation, but thats just not the case. the whole point in a demoCD is to promote youreself as dj who knows there stuff, and if others see that you have the same taste and music sense as somone like armin(who is one of the best in the business), they'll know what you're on about track selection wise. but on the other hand, if you want to throw down tracks that noone has really heard of, which arent fully dance floor approved....and something that simply wont get a crowd moving, go for it |
