drugs are bad....mmmkay?
Hey all! just thought i'd introduce myself here. I'm a newbie to the board (but most certainly not new to trance music). Anyways, i've been scrollin around the boards lately, checkin it out and whatnot, and there was a thread that caught my attention about DJs and Drugs (http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...&threadid=34682)
. but what about the audience and drugs? anyone get stoned/high/tweeked out before or during a show? I"ve been places where the marajuana smoke is almost more dominant than cigarette smoke! just wondering', that's all. me personally, i avoid drugs, but then again i'll do a few shots of Absolute or something before i go to clubs (until i hit 21, then i'll just drink there! hehehe).

blatant drug use in a club pisses me off. i know that is a lot to ask for but you look fucking stupid when you roll or are fucked up on k and you are an irritation to the ppl around you unless they too are rolling, and NOT all of them are.
everything in moderation...
I don't care what people do with their bodies. I believe that people should have the choice to drink alcohol, smoke cigs, do drugs, whatever...
But just keep in mind, regardless of morals, it is still illegal, and that it would piss me off if clubs get shutdown and events get cancelled because some dumbasses can't make a better effort of concealing their illegal substances.
It is when it interferes with others that it crosses the line, just like drunk drivers, or second hand smoke.

Originally posted by jonnycarcinogen That goes for pretty much all music. About any music show you can think of has its fair share of people on drugs. Don't even get me started on alcohol and cigarettes...they're two of the most dangerous of all and they're legal for christs sake..
During the 1920s, alcohol was illegal in the United States. This was known as Volstead Act. Ironically, underground parties existed with music, dancing, and serving of alcohol. Sometimes the underground parties were raided! But the most prominent thing was crime was very high due to this. Today, most crimes are drug related. Around %50 of our jail population involves association with drugs. Maybe legalize drugs all together? No matter what the government does, with pointless laws and acts, there will always be drugs present in society.

Originally posted by UWM I have to ask. Have you ever been to a club where people are drunk? Bumbling fucked up drunken idiots are 100x more annoying than anyone on any drug. When you are dancing and some stupid drunk asshole keeps stepping on you and bumping into you and doesn't even realize or apologize. Now that pisses me off.
Well you guys should give up clubbing, as you aint gonna be in no club where there ain't no drunk people or people on drugs.
And if you are in a club wich is full of people doing it straight, then leave as it would be fucking shit.
I agree that full out drunks slobbering and fumbling around all over the place can be an annoyance. but i'm not opposed to havin' a few drinks in the system. As for mary jane and all that jazz, the smell of it doesn't really bother me too much, perhaps i've gotten used to it. But for the sake of the club , it would be nice not to see such activity.
but despite all that goes on, just try to have a good time, whatever you're doin.
lol@ tabacco and alcohol being the worst drugs for you. You may be right about them being more harmful for you than marijuana, but what about acid?
Alcohol has the tendency to turn someone's personality 180 degrees, that's one reason I hate it and the whole double standard. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when was the last time some carefree raver on X just decided to go around picking fights with everybody? *sorry for the rant* Anyway, I don't agree with the way drug use can cause a club to be shut down, it isn't fair but I don't know much we can do to change it. I suppose things will always be the same in this country...corporate dollars controlling the government and pissing in the face of true freedom. I wish that common sense had more of a say in drug-related incidents, the fact that someone was on anything should be of no concern; if you commit an offense you're to blame and you pay the consequences because you can't control yourself.

Originally posted by mmilo perhaps, but that statement may very well be true. obviously no one here will want to ASSOCIATE trance and drugs, however, that's the way things are.
as long as there is art there will be drugs in some way or the other. contemporary history has shown us that both entities go hand in hand. trance is music, music is art. keep em coming
i havent read all the posts but even tho ive tried several drugs, id rather stick to alcohol only at parties cos i know i can trust it and all i really want is a buzz and not a blank memory
as long as you're enjoying yourself then you're all good
cause others don't care if you don't want drugs to be had around them
and I remember being at the club where butterfly goes to regurlaly and getting asked by some girl if I had any pills for sell ... mind you she was a tourist so maybe that explains why she wasn't down with the in-club down to earth don't touch no drugs type of vibe
