whats the deal with Radiohead?
Many positive opinions i heard about them, but since they are a rock band i dont see whats the big hype. I heard one song "Karma police" which was nice, but what do you really see in them?
one word: idioteque
and they're not actually rock...
'tool' are the radiohead of rock
just like armin is my radiohead of electronica
you work out the equation.
Radiohead is my favourite band. In fact, I probably got into electronic music because of them. I wouldn't call them rock exactly because their last two albums barely had any guitar in them. I find I like them because their songs are just good. Their style is original, the melodies are beautiful and the lyrics are often thought provoking. These are some of my favourite Radiohead songs in no order of preference off the top of my head:
Rock:
Street Spirit (Fade Out)
Fake Plastic Trees
Just
Paranoid Android
Anyone Can Play Guitar
Bulletproof..I Wish I Was
Let Down
Lucky
High and Dry
Electronic:
Optimistic
Like Spinning Plates
Pyramid Song
Idioteque
Knives Out
I Might be Wrong
Kid A
Everything in its Right Place (Heard in many James Holden and Hybrid sets, probably many others too...)
They're coming out with a new album in June called "Hail to the Thief." I hear it's more like their older stuff than their newer stuff, but I'll be buying it for sure, Radiohead is awesome!!!

If they are something like Pink Floyd then i say "nice".
You've heard a lot of positive things about radiohead because they're a great band. Besides who said you cant like rock?
rock
APC
rock is nice when we are talking about classic. Todays rock is just garbage. When i heard that Radiohead is rock i didnt even bother checking them out. Now that i hear they are some electronic influence i may see what they got.
And since i know that they are from UK, they got to be talented.

My Favorite Radiohead tune is:
Climbing up the Wall
I cant believe so many people agree that they are good. Usually there is always haters.

Originally posted by twizta just for clarification... they were once rock.. classic rock but later, recently, they have had more electronica influence i think you might be referring to satan's crap which they massively produce and label 'nu-metal' |
one of a few rock/alternative bands i still listen to
Their album OK Computer is real good
radio head is some good shit, i like to listen to their newer stuff more than the old stuff
radiohead rocks!! they offer a good alternative to just listening to trance and dance in my opinion.
radio head are a minted band, ten times better than most of the shite thats in the charts
Radiohead has always owned whatever they do, they just can't go wrong
Radiohead - Everything In It's Right Place (Hybrid Head Of House Remix)
Check it out and you will understand the deal...
i see ur norwegian....been @ hsrecords lately, eh???
that's a totally genious remix compared to the first one......the original is also great, specially when they perform it live!! damn i love the REAL live sound, when big guys are actually performing their songs with synths and all, not just playing their bloody records on a turntable to make it look proof....
i've been a radiohead fan since i was 12, and i still love them...
btw, the current mp3-hail to the thief is NOT the finished version! so don't get disappointed before the real album is coming out! my current favourite has got to be "Where I End And You Begin"
I love Radiohead, there old stuff is great
Radiohead is probably one of the greatest bands to come from the early 1990's (right up there with Nirvana in my opinion). They have one of the most unique sounds from any band, and being a HUGE Pink Floyd fan, I feel that whoever made that comparison made an acceptable one.
Also, for those who haven't heard their new album, wait till you hear it! An associate of mine got a hold of a copy on the internet somewhere...IT IS SO F'ING INCREDIBLE!!! Imagine crossing "The Bends" with "Amnesiac"
It's a damn masterpiece for sure.
Radio head are mein gott!! dude they have the coolest tunes, they have that cold play element of great remixing potential, and they are an awsome group unmixed, but the bootlegs that DJs make of their stuff is often purely breath taking.
pablo honey the bends ok computer bla bla bla good stuff
ok computer is one of the best albums of the 90s
I don't appreciate them that much since they've gone all experimental but I think that's also due in part to the fact that tom got all depressed and shit and must have started doing massive drugs
I did anyhow appreciate I might be wrong live cd good good
now the new cd that will be out in june OMG
I'm happy to say that radiohead are back stronger then ever
boy oh boy this cd has been on repeat for a couple weeks and can't wait to go out and buy it
