Corsten 2003 remix of Universal Nation

Its all about that 'woo!'

Posted by arctic on Apr-24-2003 03:23:

It's the same as his original remix. it was just named 2003 due to the re release i believe.

Posted by mikefasssy on Apr-24-2003 03:31:

yep, same mix, different name, and still my favorite remix of this classic

Posted by nic01445 on Apr-24-2003 04:16:

the Corsten remix of Universal Nation is the only mix worth listening to. The original blows. I really dont like Push's style, but i looove corstens. I love Push's synths though, and corsten really brings it out. You're right, it IS all about the whoo! i like, cream myself when i hear it.

everyone knows the original mix is the best. ferry can't remix hard trance worth a shit but his uplifting stuff kicks ass.

the ferry remix completely owns the original..way more uplifting and energetic but thats just my O

the original mix was the most powerful.

I like both Tisto opening his Innercity '99 set with it was just amazing

Posted by skip on Apr-24-2003 07:52:

the original is the best, but ferry mix is food too, infact probably all the mixes are good, great track!

Ahh... memories of GC`s 8th B-day, and this tune getting played at 8am in the morning as one of the many encores Those were the days
It went:

Push Universal Nation (Ferry Corsten Remix)
Planet Perfecto feat. Grace - Not Over Yet (Matt Darey Remix)
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Marco V Remix)
Rank 1 Airwave
Ayla - Ayla
Chicane - Autumn Tactics (Thrillseeers Mix)

best finish to a set ever!

My current fav mix is Oliver Lieb Remix but nothing really tops Original for me.

Now I'm a huge Push fan but the original never really did anything to me... it's just too simple, it doesn't have the same kind of depth as his other tunes. Granted, it's pretty old but still. Maybe it just doesn't carry the same amount of nostalgia/emotions to me as it does to you because I wasn't a tranceaddict when it originally came out...

That being said, I didn't like Ferry's mix much either... but Push's 2003 (or was it 2002?) mix on the other hand... yummy.

The vinyl release came out in 2002, and was called Universal Nation 2002 (Original Mix), CD release came out in 2003 and was called Universal Nation 2003 (Push Mix). Dunno why the name is changed because it's the same mix anyway. CD version is just about 15 secs shorter.

Corsten remix is good, but it's too boring after the takeoff, nothing happens after that, he could have used that secondary melody that's in the original or something. original and 2002 remake are the best

Dancing Dude

i recon the 2002 remake is better than the orig and ferry remix, its deeper and way more involving, its pure amazing trance imo

Probably cuz he could use the record sales and milk it for all its worth. Speaking of milk, Ferry's outdated sound will last just as long as a carton of milk sitting in my black car in the summer.

dude, what are you talking about? the original starts with the melody, and it is just that melody repeating over and over for like 6 minutes. how is THAT more exciting?

i think he ment that ferry's remixes of hard trance tunes are bad, but this one kicks ass....

well, if he did, i agree!!! cuz i haven't heard a single ferry remix of a hard tune

Nothing beats the "original extended remix"
Simply the best, 100% M.I.K.E.
No crap dutch hand on the track I say!

the original builds all the way, and then adds another melody to the big breakdown, and it's just more powerful than fc remix. fc remix has a wicked buildup though, but then nothing happens after it kicks in, says the same for 2 minutes or so
