Official Colorado Thread

Well, here's the new Colorado official thread, named in the hope not to lead on others about Tiesto. Feel free to talk about whatever the hell you want, even postal employee abuse because your records haven't arrived on time, or just that your records haven't come yet, or just general stupid shit like we've been posting in the Tiesto thread. And if you don't want to read about that, than for the love of christ don't read it. I'll start:

You guys noticed the sound difference between the Tech and the crap box yet, or did you buy a crappy cartridge?

Yeah theres definately a difference, we got the carl cox signature series cartridge from numark, it was included in the deal. However it seems that the shure - whitelabels are the way to go. . . . anyways the other thread was funny to me

the funny part to me was the fact the kid kept opening all the emails talking about tiesto @ the church. lmfao! anyways, i want those whitelabels man...they look pimp as shit. btw, my mixing or should i say beat matching is still shite it sounds like i have the two songs beat meatched in the headphones then when i take the headphones off and move the crossfader you can hear the double "galloping" kick sound oh well, i'll get it sooner rather than later.

No shit, it's not like he's gonna open an email that says "Important news: Tiesto has died, to replace his date, none other than Judge Jules! Woot woot!" Fuck, I think the first half of the first page was about Tiesto, not much more than that.

I got some cheaper Shures, it was still $60-$75, I don't remember. Huge difference though. You'll get that beatmatching eventually, I swear my friend has tried for almost a year now and still sucks mad cock at it. Course he doesn't practice, and I think he's just into b/c I am, but who knows.

yeah, i'll eventually learn the beat matching, then i'll have to show mindshifter how to do it, hahaha i cant fookin wait for those records to show up. i probably wont leave my room that day i think i need new headphones though...for some reason the volume seems too quiet when you're trying to hear both tables at the same time

What type of headphones are you using? I used shitty ones for a couple months, then upgraded to the Sony's. Helped quite a bit. I want a set of the Pioneer's though, but not until a rich relative dies and leaves me money, or these ones break.

i'm using pieces of shit sony's. they cost $20 and i've had em for nearly 2 years...nowhere near dj qaulity

Been spinnin for a few hours now, yet don't seem to be gettin any better at it! Had one really nice transition, and a few so-so transitions, but mostly bad ones I think we need better headphones, I think it would help out considerably!

as far as beatmatching goes, i'm slowly gettin better at matching the beats pretty close...i still have more shitty mixes than good ones though like mindshifter said i think new headphones would help a great deal. its so damn hard to hear the kick sometimes in mine, and as i said before if you're trying to hear both songs at once in the headphones its really hard to hear if the songs are matched or not cuz the sound is so quiet even though the volume knob is maxed

Don't worry, I still have off nights. If I'm not into it or I force myself to play, my transitions suck, it's almost like my brain refuses to process well or something. If I'm into it though my transitions are pretty solid.

It's supposed to be a job with some industrial supply company, actually an old high up manager of mine works there and said she'd hire me right now...well see though, it might suck too.

Take Your Air came today, but what's really irking me off is 3rd Earth still hasn't come, it's been 15 days. Usually Chemicals pretty good about shipping, it better not have been seized by customs. Plus Chemical wants you to wait 28(!) damn days before you contact them about the package. Jesus...

Someone at my work changed my schedule for today though, and didn't tell me, and they had the god damn balls to call and ask why I didn't show up. How the fuck am I supposed to show up when the xerox'd schedule I have has been fucking changed, and no one tells me? God, I hate that store...

I've been caning 3rd Earth, Take Your Air and Butterfly one after another for the last couple days, it never gets old

3rd earth is money...that kick hits pretty fast at the beginning which makes it a prime pick to mix into a faster paced song for some high energy dancing

oh yeah, me and mason are gonna be in denver tomorrow to turn in our application to sherman tower...it only takes a couple of days to be approved and my last day at work is may 10th. sooooooooo we could very well be moving to denver that weekend
