Disco/Filtered House

Come on. Somewhere in the midst of you tranceheads, there have to be some disco or filtered house addicts!!! Being from Chicago, the supposed birthplace of house, I live on house. Angel Alanis, Thomas Bangalter, etc!!!

first i've heard term "filtered house"

Sadly the french have stolen the filtered house and basically hijacked the genre. You don't have many people these days making filtered house outta chicago unless you count felix da housecat

Ah... filtered house = non-french french house? Quite what I thought, but I'd rather check it first

i think filtered house is merely using the filter effect in the song.

i like funky/disco house. I just wish I just have a hard time finding good tracks cuz I dont know anything about it.

Great fresh house mix

Filtered house has sorta got a raw, edgy feel to it. Squelchy and twisted. Just off the top of my head try Mike Delgado - Byrdman's Revenge (Rhythm Masters Downstairs Remix) as an example. One of the bext house tracks ever imho.

In fact try anything by the Rhythm Masters. It's all bagin', funkified, cut-up housey madness to you.

I consider myself open minded when it comes to music. I listen to everything, even pop. The genre doesn't usually matter if it's a good track.

But filtered house... seriously... it's a crime against humanity.
It's the only genre I cannot stand.

No doubt you people will flame me for this because I'm a "close minded twat" or something but I can't help it.

Personally i have no idea about this genre. Would Frankie Knuckles be catergorised as this?

ehmm..may i shed some light into that

a lot of Chicago dj/producers put there stuff out on French house labels...apparently its a lot easier to do so than getting it on a label over here in the states

its funny cuz your there in the record shop buying a record marked import yet the producer is one of djs working on the stores staff
