The vbcode for it is hacked to shit because vb can't support loads that high and the servers would constantly crash. The load is balanced over a few servers, and the ammount of bandwith that they use is insane.

Not a huge difference, but the famous cell phone forums are most likely sponsored with bandwidth, SA isn't. It also turns out that VB is horse shit when having that many members, especially searching.

EDIT: I see a fellow goon has already mentioned it.
