My sentiments exactly, in a less teeny bopper way j/k Glad you feel what I feel

Lots of respect for G&D, Beautiful Things is a tuuuuuune as is their remix of Clocks, and As the rush comes is good also, though i dont like it as much. I think their essential mix was great, but Im not all about their beachball remix. I dont know what it is, i just never really got into the original that much, and i guess the remixes dont appeal to me. Not much else to this post other than to say that G&D is great imo, but im not a huge mark for every song...

yea, if there is anyone who deserves some major cred and props its g and d. 'wow' is what i think sums up their work.

dont get me wrong, some of their stuff is wicked.. but i think they are getting a serious case of over-ratedness at the moment

know what you mean, I personally cannot get into some of their stuff (Mindcircus for instance), but when it comes to as the rush comes, beachball rmx, summer calling rmx, beautiful things rmx, the praise is deserved

G & D rocks because of so many things.
First of all, they are top notch producers, I like almost every
track they spew out except for a few (that remix of Weekend Players for example, but I seem to be the only one)
but then the whole spirit they give off!

I mean, I havent witnessed PvD, Oakenfold, Thrillseekers or whomever
starting a thread at TA where they thank us for our support!
That just made them go up many steps in my eyes, thanking and
keeping a relation to the fans.

Im a bit afraid of all this tho, It kinda feels like they will soon
hit that famous "wall" that everyone talks about when ppl have been
working too much and get all stressed out making it impossible for
them to produce or even get a new idea.

I hope that wont happen to Josh or Dave.

u're so true!
altough they create some of the finest tracks i've ever heard, they are kinda close to the community; so the love for their tracks and the respect for the men behind them mix into a feeling that some get as a general "hype"; but u don't have to see it in that way i think, just enjoy their tracks and support them this the best hing u can do

come on! there are a lot of trance sites/forums on the net. you want a dj to go to every site/forum and thank the people. that's why they have there own website en many times "thanks" are given there.

Yees, there is alot of sites online but Tranceaddict is a big one.
Im not asking that every DJ visits every site there is, posting
a little thread and thanking. What Im asking is that the artist in
question shows some gratitude. They can do it in alot of ways, one
"favourite way" is to add an unreleased track to a cd/vinyl.

For me, this is worth lots more. Then the DJ/Producer has contact
with the community, getting a feel for what people think about them
which to me is worth alot. Then they arent thoose untouchable persons
making a living out of making me feel good, then they are people just
like you and me showing a deeper side, showing something of themselves.

Posting comments on their own website is good, but also very uninteresting. I think I have visited AVBs website 2 or 3 times at
most just because it doesnt have that "feeling" over it, I dont wanna
hang out at forums that just give out that "lets hype! lets hype!"-feeling.

Im not asking that DJs swarm over this place posting a thread per week
about how dissapointed they were of the fact that they forgot a certain
record, that the mixer broke down or whatever but just that they keep
in touch and give something back to the community.
They produce music, we buy it. But it can be so much more!
A prime example is Dave Dresdens comments on this board.

But ofcourse, DJs and producers are busy but that doenst have anything
to do with it. If they have time and can spare it I would like to see
them sometimes use it to give something back in other ways then "chats"
with certain websites. But ofcourse, thats up to them.

A DJ can be how big and good he wants in my eyes, but when he looses
contact with the crowd and the fans, just going around doing gigs
and never looking back, thats when I loose interest in that person.

I personally think that G&D mix of Mindcircus is there best tune, all the praise they do get however I think is well deserved, I mean, when I think about it, how is it possible for a human being to produce such a wonderful track like "As the rush comes", I'm still bemused

Posted by INDY on Apr-28-2003 15:39:

g&d what can i say....SPEECHLESS. mindcircus, beautiful things, lament, beachball, summer calling the list goes on and on...most of my fave songs are from them...i give them great props G&D you two are bad!!!!!!!!!

if?

i think you better bring the tissues|

Thumbs up

Gabriel & Dresden somehow manage to fuse the best of trance and pop into a very own style, and that is something indeed outstanding: In these days incorporating some "own sound" is nearly impossible since all has been done in some point in electronical music history...

haha i think its lead competition is there mix of beautiful things, good god i cant even put into words how incredible that song is, i listen to soooo much trance usually a song that several years ago would make me go exstatic now just makes me nod my head, but these guys productions still elevate me to that nearly lost plateau. Their style is very original and i look forward to many more productions from them.
