best introductions for DJs

When going to a performance, one of the highlights is often hearing an intro for the DJ comin' up. Like with any musical performance, the better the intro is given to the performer, the more excited you get. If they simply say who's up next, or if they're voice is too annoying it get often kill the mood before the performance even started.

Some good ones:
"DJ Tiesto on the wheel!" - Energy 2000 (although after that he got kind of annoying)
"A huge new start to the decks...for the next 60 minutes...its Tiesto...Turn it up!" - Live @ Homelands
"Hyperstate 1999 right now. Here we have for you...are you ready? [audience cheers]...are you ready? [audeince cheers louder]...are you readdaaaaayyyyy? [audience cheers even louder]...oh that's very cool. Here he is....DJ TIESTO!" - Hyperstate '99

Pete Tong always did a great job of setting up the stage for Paul Oakenfold on various plays during the Essential Mix World Tour. very professionally done. one that sticks to mind incldues, "...Haul out those roller blades...and flex those pecs...and Oaky cranks it up on Ocean Drive" - Live @ Shadow Lounge, Miami.
"[scratch noises heard]..Dance Department: Paul Oakenfold [echos] Paul Oakenfold [then dead silence for a quick second][music pumps back out again almost louder than before]" - Dance Department. (that one was really neat the first time cause i was thinking...uh oh something happened when it got silent...but then it cranked back up and brought back the excitement again).

Some bad ones:
Tiesto @ Qontact. that woman got really annoying really fast. "Do you know who that person is? I want you to tell me! Yes....Tiiiiiieeeeeeeeessssssssttttttttohohohohohohohohohohohohooooo" UGH!
Tiesto @ Haoman 17: another woman's voice...but horribly scratchy (and i doubt it was the microphone's fault...)

Just some thoughts.

Good:
Judge Jules @ Qontact 2001: "This. Is. Judge. Jules!!!"
Pete Tong for Paul Oakenfold @ Gatecrasher 6.19.99 with air horns in the background

Bad:
Marcus Schultz on Party 93.1
Whoever the moron is at Tonic for Paul Oakenfodl 4.12.01

Pete Tong for Armin van Buuren Essential mix 2003

I could pretty much memorize his lines because i listen to that set in my car almost everyday

"International Essential mix out of Holland, by the turntables this evening....Armin van buuren!" Mark Otten - Mushroom Therapy (Lightscape Remix) playing in the background

Man i so love that song....if any of you guys have it, PM me!

OMG i love that set!!!! i lost when i formatted, now that i have the name, its commin back to mama!
also... dont forget the 'cmon peopleeeeeeeeeeeeeee'

another intro i loved was Cygnus X's little intro from Trance Energy this year. Even though im still bitter about them billing him as live, but him not being there, you can literally feel the energy when the announcers like.....'say fire!'

Staying with Trance Energy, gielen has one from 2002 i think (i lost the set) where he starts off with parts of I'We Know What You Did' and some of the usual Trance Energy speech, but i think its ace =D

"Hey Orlando, how's everybody feelin tonight?"
*ROAR*
"Give it up for DJ John Digweeeed"
*ROAR*
"I couldn't hear you!"
*ROAR*

Then the huge bass came in and destroyed us all

i really enjoy Pete tong as a host, i think he has a great voice for radio and he does a good job introducing most of the acts.

My fav was one from a few years ago "Damn difficult thing to follow but we're going to ask stakka and skynet if they can do that for us, are you ready? (they mutter yeah) alright then, knock us dead" mmmm nu step jungle starts up there.

i think so too....he's got this really unique voice

the worst I've ever heard was for Sasha at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami (I think it was last year, 2002).
anyway the dude just gets up and says "on the decks right now DJ sashhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh"
it sounds like hte dude is high off his ass or spooging his pants.

anyway, in general tho, i can careless about the introductions people give. infact id rather them not give intros so i don't have to hear a dude fucked up on numerous drugs going sassssssssssshuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

I really agree, Pete Tong has one of the best voices that is really
made for radio, but its so confusing, he doesnt look the age his voice
appears.

Anyway, anything Pete Tong announces, always a little bit of background
info and then just a crazy hype.

I think what's so genius about this one is that it's so true. He flew all the way from Holland to literally help these people lose themselves for a little less than an hour and a half. This really is what I think is the best into.........EVAR
