US/GB acting as leaders of the world
something that's been bothering me lately.. it seems as though bush and blair are acting as world leaders at the moment. i mean, they are thinking of punishing some countries who opposed to a war with iraq, especially france. i don't think they can just do that without infringing international law. moreover, they seem to decide which role the UN should play in the reconstruction of iraq. if i recall correctly, the US & great britain do not head this organisation. in my opinion it should be the other way around. the US, great britain, and other countries who participated in the war (i.e. spain), should be punished for starting it without the approval of the UN (and thus infringing international law)..

to the victor go the spoils...
as cougar said...not much the countries can do now, with iraq's quick defeat the status of the US as a hyperpower has only been strengthened
- Tor, Im agreeing with you, though is Blair acting the same way as Bush?!?! I really don't see much coming out of Blair in terms of punishing, if Im wrong, Id be glad to learn over this. About Bush and his administrations comments, they are sicking me with all the "punishment". What right do they have?!?! Also.. they got mad at Chile and Mexico for not giving their support for the war ( although Chile gave a resolution for the US to wait three more weeks and Chile and everyone in the UN would have supported the US, but the US found this resolution so out of no where, and treated it as if a country like Chile should just do something else ... ) and the US got so mad @ Chile that they began to threaten it to not sign the " free commerce" with that country, now, Chile is under pressure to support the US for the reconstruction deal.. IM SICK of all this bullshit, commanding bully US really.( I should say, BUSH's administration instead, cause the country is beautiful)
Well I may a bit too into diplomacy for their tastes but I do admit that they (at least the US) has really been given little choice in the matter.
There was a good Economist article on it about 2 months ago.
