This Weekend, For the Girls! (and really cool boys)

The weekend Toronto is holding its annual Clothing Show. Which is a convention type atmosphere for designers to show off there new stuff and introduce themselves to the public. There are going to be a few clubwear designers there and also even vintage stuff. There will probably be mega sales on the merchendise.
This in not ONLY for girls because I know that a lot of guys like dressing nice.
Its only $8 to get in.

The website is

www.theclothingshow.com

Check it out!

Hmmm, now I was planning on heading over to Toronto this weekend to do some shopping anyway, but this just gives me more incentive to do so. Thanks for the heads up, StereoPrincess.

Well he's the backroom DJ at System on Saturdays so I am guessing Progressive House. I know he hates trance so you won't hear any of that

Yeah, this should be quite a shopping experience. I have never been to one of these but apperently they are a big success every year. I can't wait for the sales now!

Nice, I always like to check these things out (especially since designer stuff retails at ridiculous prices!). Will probably head down there Sunday. So that makes me what, the 2nd guy on TA going?

I'll be there..any idea if B2(square) is having a booth there?

was it just me or was anyone else really disappointed with this years spring sale?

it seemed to me like most companies (that had any guys clothes at least) just brought out the ugly stuff they didn't sell last summer and marked them down like 10%

who's going to spend $40 on a sweater that just has a small symbol on it that was graphted on there, when i can buy the exact same sweater without the logo for about $10 - 15 at the same place that they buy their sweaters from? and $40 was the markdown price!

i dunno...maybe im just a cheapass
im all for supporting local companies...
most of my clothes are from the t.o. companies...but some stuff is just ridiculous

and not only that...the stupid dvp was closed so i had to take bathurst all the way down from the 401...not a fun day at all for me

I was too busy this weekend to even think about going. Work, running errands, spring cleaning, etc. 8 loads of laundry today too! I should celebrate by buying more clothes that will add to my loads later on.

i totally wanted to go to this, but had to werk.. my friend said she got some decent stuff. i've kindof had it w/ a lot of canadian streetwear as of late... seems like the same stuff rehashed..except for kitchen orange..which has some new stuff w/ more pastel-y coulors..not sure if i like it tho.

Well, I personally wasn't disappointed by this show. I don't know what they had in previous years but I think that they should definitely make more of an effort to deal with guy clothing. I got like 5 T-shirts for like 5 dollars each. They are all what I was looking for. Also got a sweet pair of sandals for dirt cheap when regualr was like $160. I was quite impressed with this. I am also glad that I went on Saturday because at the end of the day everything was pretty much gone.
I got some stuff for my boyfriend but I agree with Kid Lax, that the guy stuff wasn't up to par. Maybe what should be orginized is a sale like this but just streetwear and clubwear and not mix it with vintage. Lots of weirdoes were out in full effect.

But on a side not, for about 2 hours, they were playing trance over the stereo system. I found that quite amusing.

And Tara I agree with you, it seems that a lot of these Canadian clothing lines are just doing the same things over. They need to move forward with the styles not just stay in the same frame of mind.
