Talking Fatboy - Fresh Fromage + Perpetuous Dreamer - The Sound Of Goodbye (Fatboy Remix)

Fresh Fromage right from the cheese factory I made this tune in two days and I'm not quite sure what to do with it, so opinions are welcome I think it definitely needs some more polishing. It's slightly cheesy, but I did that on purpose as it were a tune made for a period in Norway where us promising youths celebrate that graduation is coming closer (it's basically an excuse for drinking ourselves shitfaced for three weeks) Don't know if this tradition exists outside of Norway tho.

I also included my remix of Sound Of Goodbye which won the previous remix comp

/Edit - updated Fresh Fromage. The url is still the same.

Your remix of Perpetuous Dreamer is a real hit mate! It sounds really professional and driving. The vocals might not fit in 100% though, but it works
The right & deserved winner of the compo for sure.

Downloading your other tune, i'll come back and edit this post.

Cheers,
LW

PS: what program do you use for production actually?

EDIT : just heard Fresh Fromage, I don't think it sounds that cheesy though! It's a neat and fresh track, with yer typical breaks in it Though, like Luke said, pay attention to some clippings and perhaps the slightly silent main lead. Keep it up!!

Posted by Luke Terry on May-03-2003 11:39:

Cool

i got fresh fromage, its f00kin ace maybe needs exporting quieter as i'm getting clipping, but i will be playing this a lot, get it sent off and get yourself signed, you have the talent!

Posted by Fatboy on May-03-2003 16:41:

Thnanx for the comments guys

Lightworks: Glad you liked my remix. I'm quite pleased with it myself, and I'm considering dropping the vocals and use it on my own. I use Cubase, lots of vsts and a virus for production. I have uploaded an updated version of Fresh Fromage. I raised the lead and used easier limiting.

Project T: Really glad u liked it I have replaced the mp3 on my server with an updated version with improved bass and higher lead, and hopefully the clipping will be gone. I never heard the clipping myself I have absolutely no idea where to send it, do you have any suggestions or some advice?

Peace

What do you mean, "cheesy"????

This is AMAZING!!! OMG!
You are really talented. How long have you been producing?!

I hope to someday reach your level!
And you wrote this in two days?!

Brilliant! The only suggestion is to diversify the melody with more than the 2 main chords... Otherwise, everything is top-notch - the varied effects, the quality, the power, the bass...

/EDIT: Listening to your remix of 'Sound of Goodbye'. Words cannot describe it!!! Have you played it to Armin? The best piece of music I have ever heard on this forum.

You are my hero, Fatboy! (even though my style is slightly harder and less elegant) are you signed?

Posted by DJPrototypeX on May-04-2003 03:55:

grabbed both of your songs dude...Fresh Fromage is really bangin...sounds extremely pro...cant really give any criticism becuz it sounds great...

on the other hand...i cant stand Sound Of Goodbye...but your remix is really drivin...the vocals seem a bit out of place to me...but its just me...still an excellent rmx

will download new version asap

if you or any of your m8s DJs, have a look at some records, find their address or website to get their address or to e-mail them your tune. but first send the wave as cda to yourself registered post so u have to sign for it, and don't open it, and it can be used as your copyright to prove its yours or if sum1 tries to screw u over. even if you or your m8s dont dj, go into your local record shop and just ask to look at the records to get the addresses, if you can't get any i'll make u a small list but i suggest you try alphabet city, black hole, lost language/hooj, amongst others

Fresh fromage is very well-produced. Nice fx in it. I think it will work well with the "Russ" The lead could be alittle louder i guess.

Posted by TOR on May-04-2003 15:04:

can't say that it's cheesy..

nice track, 303 sounds very full!

Thanx a bunch for for taking the time to comment! I'm really happy that you seemed to like it

Eugene: Robert took all the remixes that were done in the remix contest and gave them to Armin. Haven't heard anything though
I started playing around with trackers in early 2000, and started experimenting with cubase and vsts in late 2001, so 3 years now. Only bedroom artist for now.

Project T: A small list of the name of some labels would be very nice, as I have no clue whatsoever about which labels does what style. (except the big ones of course)

Haak: I actually have a vocal (talking) version for our "russebil". Ugliest vocals ever

Again, thanx for the comments guys

It seems like every time I enter this forum the tunes I find here just get better and better...

Your new tune is simply amazing, doesnt sound cheesy at all.
There are so many different trance elements that you used in this tune, they make it sound more 'Full' and professional.

The melody is great, great driving percussion...
Well, what else can i say??

Its defiantly the best piece i ever heard in this forum...
I would love to see this one gets released, cus it really deserved to be pressed on vinyl.

Posted by Flotser on May-04-2003 22:12:

Thumbs up

This is fantastic! When you told me it was going to be cheesy I didn't expect anything like this. I wouldn't really call this cheesy.

You've got a true talent at producing, everything I've heard from you is great.

Don't have second thoughts about contacting labels. You are ready.

Posted by Bren-F on May-06-2003 22:10:

Just heard 'Fresh Fromage' on the TA Unite 2 Mix (right after my track )
Brilliant mate. Definatly not cheese. A solid Trancer with a quality hard touch to it.
Well done mate.
Will get your 'Sound of goodbye' remix later & let U know my comments on that

Posted by AntronVee on May-07-2003 00:00:

WOW, nice work on both songs! I really like how "emotional" your remix of sound of goodbye is...btw how old are you if you dont mind me asking? i know you mention graduation...so do you mean high school or college?

Posted by tranzMental on May-07-2003 02:14:

Wow! This is incredible man! When you said that this remix would be cheesy, I actually beleived it! Wow! The bassline is great, the synths are full, and it has this 'constant' hard energy in it! I can't beleive your not signed already man!

I can't beleive how professional this sounds! I mean, for being a 'bedroom' producer, this is so amazing!

I mean, some songs you hear, your like, 'blah', doesn't get your attention. When I first heard the opening riffs, I was caught - my ears were takin by surprise - I was hi-jacked man! Totally caught in un-awares! Excellent job! -Mental

Fresh Fromage is one of my favourite tunes i heard from this forum Fatboy = thumbsup - on the good side of Cheesey i love it

Posted by Fatboy on May-09-2003 12:03:

Thanks a lot for the comments! I really appreciate it

DJ Digityl: I just turned 19, so I'm finally graduating from high school
tranzMental: I didn't mean that the remix was cheesy, just Fresh Fromage. People don't seem to agree, maybe I think so because it's a bit "happier" than the stuff I normally do

Peace
