I just got back from the movie, I was blown away. So much better than the first. That was definitely Phoenix at the end, no doubt.

The movie was awesome, But there is one thing thats sort of bugging me, I thought Lady Deathstryke was human, the movie portrait the character as a female version of wolverine, But in the comics and in the original cartoons, Lady Deathstryke was a normal human with cybernetic implants and adamantium claws on her fingers who once had a thing for Wolverine, Her father was the one responsible for the Weapon X project that Wolverine was being experimented on, After the destruction of the Weapon X facility when Wolverine escaped, She thought that Wolverine killed her father and wanted to have her revenge to kill wolverine to avenge her father's death.

... all i have to say is that nightcrawler is awesome. the first scene where blew me away, and then when wolverine goes psycho... whoa... great action... definately loved it...

Posted by TigerClaw on May-03-2003 07:18:

i just got back from watching it.
i liked it a lot, nice effects. although i hated jean grey's death i thought it could have been prevented, which in the end is not the movie producer's fault anyway. well im sure there will be a xmen3 since pyro......

anyone read the actual comic?

oh, btw, the mazda was FECKING BEAUTIFULLY SOOOPed (sp?) up

Posted by LiquidX on May-03-2003 13:49:

- I was gonna go see it yesterday, but for some emergency situation I couldn't go.. so will most likely go today, will sure rock, I want to see the new Mazda as well, and see what it's all about.. and tomorrow, if plans go as planed, The Air Sea Show .

Posted by Ajay on May-03-2003 14:23:

not seen this or the first one

Posted by Vanilla on May-03-2003 15:47:

I heart this movie

Collosus was awesome for the short while he was on screen
Nightcrawler totaly stole the show
EXCELLENT acting all around, although James Marsden was superb at the end
Wolverine Berzerk was awesome
Beast needed to have a bigger role than what he had

Here's to X3 with Phoenix and Sentinels!

Posted by LKD on May-03-2003 16:59:

wathced the movie last night....was fuckin great..far better tahn the first IMO....about u people how mentioned the oncoming of a new charachter...booo...dont ruin it for hte others...

i was a bit upset by the mazda.....the ad campaigns for the masda have the tagline goin something like "cyclopes has it, wolverine wants it" and there was practically nothing showing the car(or too little)...another thing bout the car was the gadgets....wanted more..but nothing was tehre

This movie was by far better then the first. I think i pretty much agree with everything everyone said so far. Anyone catch the reference to Gambit? I saw Remy Lebeau's name pop up on the monitor when Mystique was searching through the database at Stryker's place. Kinda cool.

I hope they bring Gambit in some form for the next movie, and definetely Sentinels. Maybe even Juggernaut. Oh and i LOVE how they did the Phoenix thing, i knew right away when her eyes were flashing red that it was going that direction. A++ movie.

Posted by LKD on May-03-2003 17:36:

ehdood ^^^^ dont ruin it for those who havent seen it

Posted by RenderedDream on May-03-2003 17:42:

just got back from theaters
i loved the beggining, when kurt (that blue teleltransporter guy) attacked the white house..simply beautiful!
i don't get one thing..what the hell is the phoenix in the end on the lake? was it too on jean's eyes?

Posted by M-e-X-x on May-03-2003 17:44:

saw it last night
TONS of hints on what's going to be in the next x-men movie

yea i saw that phoenix image in the water too ehhe..

Posted by TigerClaw on May-03-2003 18:27:

For those who never saw the original cartoons or read the comic, Jean Grey becomes the Phoenix after being posseded by a mysterious entity, Then at some point later on, She would become the Dark Phoenix do the fact that the entity was still inside her unable to control those human emotion that were inside Jean Grey, If any of you saw those episodes of the Phoenix on the original X-Men cartoons, You should know what I'm talking about.

k, anyone who hasn't seen it shouldn't be reading this thread anyways.

And yea, Pheonix is definately coming. What I'm curious about is how they're going to fit the Pheonix saga into one movie. And then the Dark Pheonix saga.

As far as the move itself; I loved it. I really can't wait for the next one. I hope they bring in Apocalypse, Onslaught, the Sentinels, and the Operation Zero Tolerance storyline into future movies. Although Onslaught would be a little hard to pull off, heh

And who was Jason Stryker in the comics? I'm almost positive that he's not an original character...

Posted by LKD on May-03-2003 19:43:

i was jsut thinking..this is maybe the only comic strip made into a movie that people WANT to see sequels

take batman for example..people saw the first, ok cool...people loved it, they made a second, third fourth and so on...whereas for this...everyone WANTS to see sequels and more of a story

Read Ultimate Xmen to see how they'll do Phoenix in the movies (basicly her powers just get crazy strong)
Sentinels are high possibility for X2 (cuz they were almost in X2), but the next most likely villan would be Sinister because of his ties with the Xmen
And Jason isn't in the comics, but his character is inspired by Proteus (The directors favorite comic character)

Also, look for Strykers file on Franklin Richards, wouldnt be surprised if there was refrences to him in X3 with Phoenix

Oh, and today (May 3) is free comicbook day. go down to a comic shop and grab some X comics
