cass and slide - glad I ate her repress

http://secure.globalbeats.com/html/...rd.php?id=22472

I'm sure a few of you out there have been looking around for this, and it's just been repressed, so pick up a copy now if you really want it

got one a few weeks back...

was a rare record until now

Posted by Fast Turtle on May-03-2003 03:23:

Oh...first time I've seen it around. Sorry if it's old news.

Why do you say that?? I think its a good track and for people that don't have it its an opportunity to get it now. Just because it hasn't been ripped to mp3 0.34 seconds ago and will be released in a month doesn't mean it isn't good and worth getting.

it was belted out by every dj & his dog 2.5 years ago

fresh material gets you somewhere, belting out past classics is just unoriginal

This might seem impossible to you but some people actually want to buy records because they like them, not because they want to be famous by playing other peoples tunes.

true, very true! i'm geting tired of the public thinking dj's are performing a concert! it's just a damn set, what's so pro about it? a friend of mine's been a bedroom dj for 3 years now, he's damn crazy on the decks, and he uses drum synths and samplers next to them to play tunes more "live" atmospheric...he can also play his own tunes completely without any vinyl, cd, mp3, etc...i bet he'd be famous if only the public realized spinning a vinyl and cutting the bass doesn't make you professional....the only techno/trance ppl i see has realized that so far are the chemical brothers...and i see tiesto is beginning to wake up too...

to get back to the topic....

2,5 years ago i didn't listen to anything but cheesy euro dance and sometimes trance! now 6 months back i heard this tune for the first time, and it was one of the tunes that got me into prog/ambient.....can Teknoscaper tell me what's the matter with that??

your exactly right, its like when pulser cloudwalking or insigma open your eyes got repressed....tiesto already raped those two a few years ago yet people still think its cool to throw them down again in sets. personally i think its lame to hear old songs when a dj spins cause i might as well listen to them on my mp3 player at home.

A good tune is a good tune, how old it is doesn't have anything to say, i wouldn't exactly get mad if the dj started spinning veracocha or out of the blue again, it would just bring back good memories, and gets a little nostalgia into the set, and most of the new trance really suck, so you gotta pick some of the classics

Posted by noonboy on May-04-2003 10:09:

conclusion: if the track is over 1 year old, it gets boring! HAHAHA lmao

Posted by Arsalan on May-04-2003 12:13:

well i think what they mean is that if they do repress it it wouldnt have the same feeling as to when the tune came out. because in 2.5 years (glad i ate her) most djs would have already raped that track enough hehe but its a great opp. for ppl that are looking for the rare vinyl and also tsunami is right, who cares even if it is 20 years old if its a great track it doesnt matter when it came out

i cant beleive i missed out on the cloud 69 repress

Posted by fr0st on May-04-2003 15:47:

Yep i fucking hate it when djs play older tunes like

Sasha - Xpander
PVD - For an Angel

who cares to listen such trash, cuzz its old.

Heh, you must not be a DJ. In North America where I spin, I'll be lucky if there are 3 people in a club of 400 that can ID even one of the songs that I play the entire night. The fact that Tiesto/Sasha/Whoever hammered out a tune to death means anything unless you're playing at Gatecrasher or something. Just because a TA like you has listened to a track 500 times, doesn't mean your average clubber has ever heard it more than once or twice.

^^^Yeah,,, what he said

I can understand why people are dying for a copy of this. I was fortunate to get a 999 copy but if i didnt own it i would buy the repress, just to play to myself.
