DEMF/ Movement Festival Lineup

Maybe sake would be the expert on this lineup, but I don't see too much that impresses me.... Keep in mind that there are many 'after parties' that weekend, but those cost $, when Movement is supposed to be the free event. I dunno- a trip to NY is looking more appealing to me right now....

you got the founders of detroit techno

Jeff Mills, (Belleville 3, ones who created it, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson but MISSING FROM THE LINEUP...DERRICK MAY!)

Eddie Flashin Fowlkes is another person who helped create it

then you have the second wave of detroit techno

carl craig, stacy pullen and kenny larkin

all very good dj's

you also have some of the greatest house producers there

Francois K and Ron Trent

Also

Danny Krevit from Tribal Sessions, Manchester

Richie Hawtin is TBC
-always worth it

DJ Rolando aka the Aztec Mystic

I bet Mad Mike Banks will be there
-no one knows what he looks like, he runs UR (detroit techno label) but no pictures exist of him. An enigma but he shall be there

Robert Hood shall be there, even tho he won't be playing

Good old german techno wizard of thomas fehlmann will be there, always worth it.

But I don't get it, they have all the famous detroit techno legends cept Derrick May but I have a feeling he will be there anyway because they are like family in detroit. I'd go if I could just to see all those amazing techno deejays.

..yea i heard a couple of these dj's spin but never in detroit, where tekkno was 'born'..

..we've got the godfather (mills), kelly hand (godmother), may (father), and pullen/larkin (sons) of tekkno.. lol!

..i'm most happy about hearing beltran and k-hand..can't wait to hear eddie fowlkes (never heard him spin, but his production AMAZES me).. juan atkins >> never heard him spin, can't wait to hear him live!!.. kevin saunderson and kenny larkin i've heard already, good groovy detroit tekkno..

..i simply can't wait to go to this..

actually they say around and named the word techno for their genre, apparently May hated it but got talked into it by Juan Atkins

then you have jeff mills, Kelli Hand (started in 1989), UR with Mad Mike Banks, Robert Hood, James Pennington, Alan Oldham, Kenny Flashin Fowlkes, Neil Olivera and a few others.

Yes, he is from Mexico but he plays so much detroit techno that it is not funny.
