just tried real mixing...impressed

I just came back from a friend's house, who's got a mixer and runs from 2 CD players, an old receiver to amplify and an EQ deck.
He taught me how to mix trance, and I feel so proud!!!
It's such a great feeling to make a smooth, sexy transition between your favourite tracks!!! I now have a new impression about DJs who mix only. It is a skill and I have begun to hone that skill!!
Being a producer, I definitely want to get into DJing as well.
Just had to comment. Maybe others have had the same "revelations"??

PS. I beautifully mixed Boys of Summer (Cosmic Gate Remix) into Icarus (Daedelus remix)...and omfg it was so wicked!!!!!
I can now see how my next major purchase will be a mixer and MP3/CD deck.

Man, using vinyl is a LOT more fun and a LOT more satisfying when you make a perfect transition! Believe me it is well worth it!

But if you don't want to get addicted to vinyl, stay away..

Vinyl elitists...
Do what you want...CDJing is cool, and so is vinyl DJing.

Here we go again. There's a whole sticky thread about vinyl v cd.

Good to hear, nothing like a great mix

If you mixed a set on a pair of cdj's, nobody could tell the difference between vinyl save for maybe the absence of popping and clicking...

Ohhhhhh. Good quote. Go me!

I think its much harder to mix with TT's than it is with CD's. There's alot more of technique and skills involved with a TT than with a CD. Allthough, mixing using a CD is fun too, but I stick with vinyl!

WERDDD!!!

I hate people that mix with CD Decks, it takes away the whole experience from DJing...

When mixing with Vinyl you feel more proud that you actually purchased the song you are playing at a high price rather than bloody downloaded the thing.

I'm sorry to hear that you hate Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, and almost every other big-timer DJ mentioned on the TA forums.

It's just that it would be better if they mixed on vinyl thats all.

no offence man, but you're a fuking moron! if someone plays cds, does it mean that they have downloaded the tracks and play them? no! they sell cds too you know. so don't make stupid generalizations!

Posted by Flash Bastard on May-05-2003 09:44:

lol some people are just 2 sad i calling no name "Dj_Psygnosis
", what the hell has a meduim to do with djing, it's just a thing to get your sound to ya mixer, and the meduim doesn't make you a good or bad dj, its the way you handle it it's the way you mix, you can even be a pro dj with a tape record as long if it's sounds good

hmm this is my opinion

dude, you only just got your decks, what were u mixing with b4 eh?
if not cd's, then mp3s, and in ur frame of mind, isnt that worst?

anyway, to the poster, i'm glad u found something special in that first mix. it works, i'm sure vice versa from djing to producing. producing i can imagine is something special too.

p.s. hehe. interesting tunes u mixed with
