Scooter has been around since 1993 and was one of the pioneers of German techno/trance. You better think of that before saying they're a rip-off.

Scooter is a really skilled group with a very steady group of fans. Yes, they make some cheasy songs. But they're all very catchy.

i know it. Scooter was my fav. artist in 90s(thanx 2 them i started listening electronical music)

but what they do now? only a few okay tunes. i have lost respect to them:| nessaja...weekend...ramp..

in the beginning u can hear hear Klitzing style sample and so on...

they are'nt original :|

Is it really that fun to bash Scooter? We all know that they make mostly covers, or at least borrow samples/melodies/lyrics from other songs, but does it have to be said over and over again? Seems like the Scooter-bashing threads are getting more common than the hub threads If you don't like them, why the f**k do you listen to them? Just to be able to bash them? Just leave it FFS.

Anyways, the lyrics are Valerie Dore - The Night from the 80's (the highpitched voice that is). Don't know if they "ripped off" any other songs in the club mix too.

i agree with JP on this... i mean scooter has be around for a very long time, they made some really nice stuff! And who cares if they make some cheesy stuff - then dont listen to it!! Its songs like those that draw people closer to eletronic music, if it wasnt for a lot of cheesy trance songs half of my friends wouldnt be listening to what they listen to now. Its a stepping stone

It's not about them making cheesy music. It's about them ripping off other artists and yet claiming the material as theirs.

Scooter isn't the only one doing that.. there are so many more. If u ppl really care that much about them ripping off, why don't u do something about it instead of just bashing them behind their backs?

I agree with JP, Nicke and Jiggilo too. If u don't like them why do u listen to them? I really don't need to listen any artist if i already know i won't like the tune or their style or producing. Heh, just like Scooter would be the worst thing in the world. Their original plan really was to make new versions, remakes, of the tunes they like. So what?

They've been around about 10 years under the name of Scooter and before that under a few other aliases, with just a few changes within the crew. How many of the big names of today have been on the top for 10 years selling as much as Scooter have? Scooter can't be all bad, otherwise they would have finished years ago.

I was a big Scooter fan back in the 90s, especially their first 2-3 albums were great. Nowadays i think they have just lost the originality and imagination in their tunes and haven't been seriously listenin to them for years. All the latest singles sound exactly the same so i haven't bothered. There are much better stuff around to listen.

This brings up a question why do all the "Scooter haters" need to listen tunes they hate? Are they masocists or something? Or do they like to torture themselves? Or just for the fun of bashing them?

Don't think so, i think they actually like Scooter but just won't admit it. All the bashers always say something like this: "Hey, i just listened to a tune by "Insert artist i hate very much". All their tunes are just blaa blaa blaa rip-offs.. They suck soo much.." I still can't understand all this BS:ing "I hate this so should u too!!"

Music is a matter of taste and tastes differ. And every artists have their good times and bad times, believe me. Hopefully Scooter manages to rise from the ashes, just like Darude. If u like an artist, don't judge him/them by the name. Feel free to like whatever u want!

Im dead serious here... i think just because a lot of people have posted about scooter being horrible - that everyone on this messageboard should hate them cuz "everyone on TA hates them" so i wont "look cool". Thats b.s. listen to what you like, and be proud of it! These people made this music for you!!! So listen to what you want to and dont be scared to let your true feelings out. I like what grimreaper said about darude, look everyone flammed him because of sandstorm. Now look at his new album, dont tell me that isnt good trance music.

Like I said above, I have nothing against Scooter (they do have a couple of tunes I like) even though they aren't really my cup of tea.
However, I understand there's a lot of people who like their stuff and that's fine by me. I would just really REALLY appreciate it if they'd start being a bit more creative again...

Electronic artsists have been doing this for years. So have Scooter, yet no-one on this forum really cared untill they Dared to 'rip-off' Strange world.
Personally I can't see what the fuss is. So what if they used a melody from a track everybody likes ?

Hell I don�t ever d/l a scooter track as mp3... You just hear them in TV and Radio that�s more enough for me... There are just 2 things that screw up Scooter:

- annoying helium-voice-vocals !!!
- even more annoying Johan Gielen look-a-like shouting stuff that
don't make any sense what so ever (what does an ice cream van have
to do with the song???!!!

take those 2 things out and they're not so bad at all
