strange thoughts

GOD, yes him.
The bearded guy Sitting on his Golden throne.
with all his Archangels with theyr flaming swords..
all watching.
What are they watching?
Us, strugling on this Ball of mud we so lovingly call earth.
All the Wars, Murders, Mass destruction, Diseases.
Lies we tell each other, truths we twist to fit the frames of your Ignorance.
Among all that stands the preacher telling god loves us but we must not question him.
Because hes all powerfull and everything he does, and everything that happens is
somehow part of his great plan..
Se we must shut our mouth, put on our blindfolds, and pray.
Yes I bet we are a great laugh from up there.
Well f* god and his propaganda.
I think I'll take my chances alone.

Just a thought I wrote down yesterday at 3 am, kind of suprised myself

just a question

what makesu think hes got a beard???

thats just an artistic impression

Posted by montie on May-06-2003 04:25:

and why do you think god sits on a thrown?
you actually believe in a "humanified" (forgot the real word for this) version of god?
humans try to turn god into a human who watchs over everything like a king. if he were perfect, why would he do or be something human like?
thats a childish way of looking at god.

humans are free to make their own choices.
we cause our own problems.

here's a question for u, xtians. if adam was made in the image of god then it means god, too, has a PENIS. what does he need it for?

Posted by Geed on May-06-2003 15:46:

I gues this was directed more on the People who think of god this way,
than on god himself. Manny christians say god is all powerfull and supreme bu than they alsdo think they knw all about him, Like telling you how god wants you to behave go to church and pray.
I mean If there truly is god he must be so far beyond our comprehencion that we canot think we even begin to understand him.
So I'm willing to acept the Idea of God but I canot stand someone telling me how shuld I live because god wants me to do so...
Including the bible.

In his image doesn't necessarily mean identical.

yep...we talk about body structure, face consisting of eyes, ears, nose etc.

its just a belief and religion is all about belief.....i am a Catholic that goes to church every sunday so to me all of this is true...

yes i have questioned God's existence but then i relize im a better person if i have guidlines on how to live and thats what i get throught the Bible..hoever i do disagree with stuff like turning the other cheek and so on....i choose what i want to follow and what i dont..thats the reason why we have free will and thats why Acid Junkie and Geed think differently from me..after all it IS ur life..choose to do what u want with it...

just my $0.02

Rasta

I refuse to believe that God is personified as a human. Thats just a little extreme IMO. Humans are small parasites in comparison with the entire universe, I cant imagine to think that we are alone in the universe..and at the same time I dont believe that God has only control over the Earth...with no regard to the rest of the universe. God should(if God does exist) appear in a form that is somewhat uniform throughout the rest of the universe; which would be energy. Sorry, but I'm not gonna worship another human being to the extent that this person is God. Id rather worship my parents because I KNOW for a fact that my mother gave birth to me, which I should be thankful for.

I do believe in God, but only to a certain extent. And as montie nicely stated, we are not puppets..we do what we like and face the consequences.

EDIT: I suggest you guys read material from other religions as well, which offer an alternate view on their super power. One thing is for sure though, most religions(even pre christianity) have had rituals that have incorporated some celestial type ceremony. So, everyone's fondness for the universe is just about the same...which I find interesting

definatly man. i totaly agree. I tend to think of god as some source of energy or the compilation of all matter (E=MC^2). we are made of at atoms, which are made of photons and electrons which are made of quarks and so forth etc. if you go the other way, atoms make up molecules which make up our bodies and the earth, and a planet makes is part of a solar system which is part of a galaxy, which is part of a universe and so forth. (there are more complexities and so forth)
but anyway, what im trying to say is that a galaxy or a star is like an atom of god.
and christianity says that we are created in God's image, i interperate that not as god being like some king or emporer who sits on a thrown and is all powerful like many christians portray him to be, but as a being which thinks and is conscious of one's self and is free to choose their own actions, just like we are.

ok, i don't want to seem a smart-ass geek in here, but i hate manifest errors when it comes to science.

atoms are made of neutrons, protons, and electrons.

quarks form only hadrons. an electron is not a hadron, therefore quarks don't form electrons.

hadrons = elementary particles that interact by the means of the strong nuclar force (such as the proton [a kind of baryon], neutron [a kind of baryon again], pion [a kind of meson], kaon [meson again], etc). most hadrons are unstable and decay into other hadrons (only protons and nuuclear neutrons are stable)

the electron has no detectable structure, actually. it is considered to be the first generation of leptons (along with electron-neutrinos).

at the same time, photons are tottaly different from electrons (and fermions in general). they are elementary bosons (just like gluons and gravitons) with zero mass.

actually, why not? ancient egyptians, for example, believed that the world started when god ra (atum) spanked his monkey and "gave birth" to shu and tefnut. i think some other texts say that he simply sucked himself off

i know dude, i was too lazy to get into all the technicalities though. thats what "and so forth etc" was supposed to take care of.
