Drugs are bad M'kay

What is the point of taking drugs. If you can't appreciate the music without the aid of drugs you don't deserve to be a trance addict.

partially, i agree with you. people shouldn't NEED to do drugs to enjoy music. do i agree that they shouldnt be TA? no! most music is enjoyable sober. drugs are just icing on the cake.

gah

lez just leave this subject alone, it has been beaten to death so many times... search.

Posted by montie on May-08-2003 01:58:

exactly as stated above.
its not a matter of necesity.

its a matter of making it better.
when your under the influence of any drug you see thigns diferently.
your senses are hightened.
That release of seratonin or surge of adrenaline you get when you hear a huge buildup in a song is increased when you have MDMA surging through you or you have coke up your sinus

"Drugs are bad m'kay"

^^^^^^^^^^^^
Out of all the things that get on my nerves, nothing is worse than seeing anti-drug schmucks throwing that phrase around. You need to realize that phrase is from the tv show South Park (obvious to some) which was created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker who USE DRUGS... If you haven't figured it out by now the definition of the word irony is more or less a requirement to understand South Park. The use of the phrase on the show is IRONIC. If you think some bullshit catch phrase like that is going to turn anyone on your side regardless, you'd better find a grip on reality... Drugs and music are synonymous with each other. You can't have one without the other. There may be people who can't enjoy music without drugs but it's not the problem people make it out to be. The aftermath of drug use is simply the most exaggerated (by the media & government) thing I've ever encountered.

I think the above post clearly shows that there are some people who can't appreciate the music without the usage of drugs.

I think what he means is, if you look back through our musical history, there are drugs in plenty of places.
Loads of some of the top musicians of our time use/used drugs, and some even paid the price for it.

Electronic music, however, IS moreso related to drugs, it's just a fact. Deal with it.

ps. people who do need drugs to appreciate music are indeed sad, but myself and almost all the people I know who do drugs, still like it outside of their effects.

It's a question of whether you're using drugs to enhance the music or using music to enhance the drugs.

There's a difference, and most (if not all) the people here would fall into the first category I'd reckon.
