no, there is no such genre as "dance" or "club" lots of people make up genres, the guy who told you this was likely misinformed.

there is no such genre, but i use it to describe some epic trance songs that are poppy and likely to be heared at clubs, such as dj sammy - heaven or ian van dahl - reason.

I thought club was anything that was DJ Sammy cheesy stuff...

as in a club mix would be played in a club... but i consider CLUB stuff to be more stuff like hi-NRG stuff.. the one that comes close to happy hard...

Here, at least, tracks like those wouldnt be played in clubs - rather shitty bars and places like that.

You guys are wrong, Club is the Dutch term (only used in holland) for what you people call House/Groove.

Many eurodance producers usually remix their tracks by making them a bit faster with a stronger kick and hi hats so they can be more danceble and mixed easily in da club. They usually call them "club mix", that's probably what your friend is talking about, but it's not a genre by itself at all. It's just another form of cheesy dance music which may have house or trance influences in terms of bpm and structure. Go to Kazaa and search for the club mixes of any of those Aqua or Vengaboys songs, you'll get the idea.

Yeah but this guy's American, he's talking about something different. Even if they are somewhat related.

For me club is something used in Belgium clubs like atmoz, they spin club here...
Listen to the scumfrog essential mix, that's what I call typical club music.
