I dont practice anymore realy.... when i get new records I do like a mini set to listen too all the records both sides..... other than that my gear sits idle most the week =\ my practice comes every sat when i do 3hr gigs.....seems to keep me up to par sooo i prolly end up doing 5 or so hrs a week on the tables

i used to spend about 4 hours a night on my decks.. now its gone down a bit but i still probably do a good 10-15 hours a week

I used to jam on them for about 2 hours a day,but I'm kind of like frost minus the gig part. I can only really get down on weekends. With school ending soon I should have more time now.

I don't practice a lot, I haven't even looked at my tables for about a week. Usually though I get roughly 3 hours a week because it's hard to get in the mood anymore. I think if I had an audience it would help me but practicing alone is just like listening to music that you play so much you're sick of.

I practise every day,usually between half an hour and an hour.
Sometimes in weekends I do a 1 hour/1 and a half hour set to practise my buildups

hmm well it depends really, but when I don't have school work, on weekdays I usually play a 2 hour set... if I'm busy with school, maybe just one hour... week-ends can keep me busy on the decks for 5 or 6 hours (each day) though

I don't practice nearly as much as I really should...I would said that I play on average 2-3 hrs a week, that includes doing my live show on TAW....Got loads of work at the moment so when that quietens down then hopefully I'll get back and go for 1hr or so a day.

but then i realized when im playing at home and i play like everyday...i spin like shit

i guess its because it becomes more of a routine rather than something im all hyped up to do

so now i only spin when i get the urge to...and now whenever i play in my basement i find myself becoming more and more creative and my mixing is becoming a lot more flawless

so sometimes ill spin for like 1 1/2 hours one day and that's it for the week...other times i won't play for almost 2 weeks...it all depends on if i have any gigs coming up and if i bought any new vinyl

Now thats what I do too. It becomes a routine and then you suck. When you don't like what you do, you begin to suck at it and when you really feel the need, you're creative...

I think alot of people have that feeling.

yea...i agree with ya,sometimes can spin like hell good,but sometime i even mistakes at mixing all de time,but for my own personal,i would like try to get practice everyday just in case if 1 day i play in ant parties with bad condition,i think it may help me get rid of maistakes

Now that's where I disagree with ya. It's totally pointless to do that. I usually hear it afer mixing 2 tracks weter i suck or not. When I suck, I stop mixing, and just lay back to just listen to music. But ofcuz its thrue that the more you practise, the better you get. It's also wise to record your mixes, and listen to them. Now, you could say: "why don't you record those BAD mixes you make when you're not doing it very well"
Well, cuz I don't learn from that. I make the stupidest mestakes, hit the wrong buttons and eventually, it sounds like shit. Those mestakes are mestakes I don't usually make, and I shouldn't be making due to my gained skills...

after some mixing u know how to mix and its really pointless to mix everyday..
i got no equpiment and i went to a friend and in the first time i mixed i got some perfect beatmixing and all..
when ill have equipment ill test myself ;]

Naa, mixing everyday does have a point, but when you feel your doing much worse than otherwise, you better stop. cuz
1) You get hopeless
2) you lose courage to do it everyday
3) its a pointless waiste of time

i mix for an 30 mins/day, sometimes i dun even mix for weeks but i got low attention span...plus having confidence helps in practicin long sessions i think. Maybe even a change of venue, but like its been said before mixin by urself pretty much sux!
