I don't own a mac, but I will say that there very good at some stuff(graphics/video/audio) but horrid as far as games go.

Light and Magic used Macs for the 3d effects before but since they found out that the P4s contained better performance they ditched the macs and went for the PC. See now if you lose a big company like that.. that makes absolutley most of the CG animation in the movies then you know MACS= SUCK!!

well 95, 98, 2000, xp dont anyway. they all use time slices, which imo is better.

linux/unix is the OS of choice.

The P4 is actually a terrible design as compared with the P3, Athlon, and PowerPC designs, but I won't get into that.

Suffice it to say that comparing Macs to PCs makes about as much sense as comparing satellite to cable TV. It all depends the individual users and what they actually intend to use it for, not to mention how much they're willing to pay and how technical/hands-on they are, etc. etc.

Bottom line, both of them are just stupid little metal boxes that only do what you tell them to.
