You know, i have a feeling that it might not have actually been a dead foetus turning into a tumour. It might have been a tumour that was turning into a foetus.
You're Crazy dj_mdma i hear you all say!
I'm currently studying basic oncology (the study of cancer), and a type of cancer htat exists is called an embryonic carcinoma. Basically what it is is a tumour that originates from a multipotent stem cell in the body. To cut a long story short, it usually grows in women, as the ovaries are contain eggs which contain the basis of stem cells. But it could possibly have grown in this kid.
What tumours do is that they grow without being kept in check. Now imagine if the tumour grows and also has growth factors within it that can let the developing mass express the need to grow hair, eyes, teeth, arms and legs?
If left to develop, the tumour can actually develop a very basic nervous system, and when removed and stimulated with electrodes and stuff, it actually RESPONDS. Basically its a mutant baby!
