Kickstartin vinyl collection
I've seached the forums for this one and I can't find any sort of advice to do this. A redirect would work. Anyway for the question: So, lots of you now got a good number of vinyls you buy through your addictions and what have you - through periods of time : however is there a way where you can "kickstart" your vinyl collection by buying many at a time "in bulk". Will record shops give you deals? Any advice on this subject would be very helpful.
Replayrecords.com do these deals. They call them pre-packs...
How it works is, they randomly pick 25 releases they got in stock (according to them) and you only pay 25 for the lot. Down-side obviously is that you don't know what tunes your buying. I've never used it before, but its very cheap.

heyy that looks nice. Thanks for showing that to me. When I eventually make my order I'll say how it is. Anyways... since you're in the UK... lol would it be possible to get that monster pack? (Mega Mega Pack) As you can see I'm in Canada. However that would be asking alot, wouldn't it? The shipping must be mega mega as well.

REST OF WORLD SHIPPING Rest Of World shipping costs are dependant on country, service required and items included in the order. Our Pre-Packs are very heavy and therefore attract a higher shipping cost, however we try to provide the best value services. If you require an explanation of shipping costs for an order please contact us. |
no doubt it will be done
why would you do this?
buy the tunes you want to spin.. I already regret the 4 or 5 tracks out of 100 or so i have that i only bought because i "thought" they'd be good. I'd never go buying a random bunch of records.
but, what i DO do is buy a lot of records (10 or more) all at once, which saves on shipping.
well i wouldn't just buy random records for the genres that i listen to now. I'd use it just to sample another genre - help get a better understanding of some new labels i may like. I'm not going to splurge on music that I know. I'll just buy what I like.

), not to buy records in bulk or, in a word, not to buy them thoughtlessly. The records you buy is what makes your style! Don't go around getting the massive bulk deals 'cuz I bet you won't like at least half of the stuff there.
If it doesn't cause this, no matter how uncertain I am, I have to put it back, if for no other reason than the $$$ issue. Diminishing returns: it isn't worth getting a record that you only half-like, for the full price of another record that you would potentially really like.
hahaha
You hit it right on the head.
I'll probably just go to some local stores and check out what they've got.
You can check out some of the older/used stuff it's cheaper and sometimes you find stuff that's quite good.
go on ebay. . . or if your lucky, try the pawn shop. I found some awesome grabs there.
