After over a month of practice and constantly changing the tracklist, I came up with this result, DEFINED. I called it this because it truly defines my style, it defines what I want people to think about when I DJ. I completely changed my mixing style to produce a more seamless mix and I think I'm going to stick with this change. I hope everyone enjoys. This month represents my year anniversary for DJ'ing and I want to thank the TAs that have supported me by downloading my mixes and giving me feedback: MrMarcellos, Bachatu, Bassaholix, CosmicGuy, OmegaSox, DCaff, Sir, Lunchalot, icedale, Michael Russo, HardTrance81, Bear4569, Speedy2K, deejay2002, Arsalan, Ocean7, dj raymond wade. Everyone please feel free to post your comments, good and bad.

Peace,
Steve

THanks Nils, you're new to my mixes I see. I'll keep bringing them month after month hopefully. In this case, a month and a half after my last one. Yeah, I didn't want to throw in all the same records all the top jocks are canning, its hard not to, but it wouldn't be as special to me. Subsola - So Pure(Matti Laamanen Remix), Neo and Farina - Someone, POS - Amnesiac, Katoi - Touch you (Ralphie B Remix), and John Askew - Shadows after Dark are all good songs that haven't been raped by most of the DJ's. The others...well are still fucking good nonetheless.

peace,

Steve

WOW, It seems as if no one is visiting the Amateur section anymore. I've never had a problem with getting responses about my mixes, if it sucks, I just would like someone to say it...oh yeah and mean it to...

peace,

Steve

Amateur section is flooded with a lot more productions lately. They are much easier to critique than mixes, so without atleast a comment per day, mixes get spammed off the page pretty fast.

Downloaded your set the other day, just haven't had time to listen to it yet. Will definitely comment when I do, though.

Edit: Great mix, man. Flow was nice, and the mixing was spot on. I didn't notice any bass claps, definitely the one thing I have the hardest time avoiding. If only you substituted something for that damn Forever Waiting track, I can't stand that one. Hehe. Keep up the good work!

Hey bro. I know you're from Austin too. I dled your last mix, and I enjoyed it except for Yet another day... But I don't care who spins it, I'll always dislike that track. Do you have any gigs in the Austin area? I'll come to support if I can, and my friends will enjoy it as well. I'm also looking to start Djing, but for now I'm just buying records and messing around on my friends' decks. It's a shame the scene here is in a lull.

Peace,

David

p.s. I'll tell you what I think of your latest mix.

Thanks Dave! I PM'd you about possibly meeting up with you sometime considering you only live prolly about 10 minutes from me. Oakhill right??? Anyways I hope you enjoy this mix as much as I did making it. I will soon make another in about 2 weeks, with some wonderful new releases on it, as I do with all my mixes.

Check your PM!

Hehe. Sure Anytime.

I liked your mix very much.

Do you think it's better to throw in all new songs, or put in one or two classics now and again???

For CD purposes, all new, it keeps me as in up to date DJ as well as makes the compilation something new to talk about. Now, a live set, I'd throw in some older songs here and there, but I work hard at staying on top of the game.

Thanks for the feedback!

I finally had the time to listen to your mix and I have to say: The transitions are all very smooth.

Good work!

Hopefully you can download, my subscription ended the other day, so I'm only allowed 3 donwloads per day, if you have a problem with that, than e-mail me and I'll gather the balls in to putting another a subscription up. Thanks for the compliments, I think this one beats Above Me, just a litte.

Posted by Steven Hays on Jun-11-2003 22:11:

Just to let everyone know, I will put up a June mix in the next couple of weeks.

peace,

Steve
