solid globe -- north pole / south pole

i had been hearing this tune in many sets and i just today discover the name of it.
really great tunes. both of them are just amazing.
anybody else think the same?

Posted by sash on May-10-2003 05:20:

i've only heard north pole, and it's very good

Posted by Micheline on May-10-2003 05:24:

i am still trying to figure out who is behind this project.
any ideas?

Posted by starglider on May-10-2003 05:44:

It's Nic Vegter aka Classified Project, if I recall correctly.

the track is actually Written and produced by Dutchman Maurice Night for Fundamental Recordings, which scored a huge hit last year with A Situation - Situation, and is involved in the Perpetuous Dreamer team with Armin and Adrian Broekhuyse. Lets take a closer look at this astonishing record.

A1: North Pole (Nickelson & Maurice Night Remix)
Nic Vegter aka Classified Project teams up with Maurice Night to deliver a dazzling remix-workout. Vaguely more commercial than his previous productions, which almost certainly explain the vast support it has received from top DJs worldwide. Its a grand mixture of trance, progressive, chill, basically the ideal mishmash for that unique balearic experience. Undeniably a terrific production, destined to go down big this spring / summer.

Trance.nu really have shite reviews dont they. I should imagine its very difficult to review trance records, but that is just shite.

This is cheese imo...too simple melody, one layered.
But if u like it I can understand, it's a nice tune but cheese...

Posted by TranceSeeker on May-10-2003 09:59:

Quality trance for me is like:
John Debo & Steve Porter - Deported (Original Mix)
Compare the two...

Posted by Micheline on May-10-2003 10:05:

hmmm..you may be right.
but i heard many tracks with simple melody. i dont think that means they are all cheese.

terrible tune.

that lead is horrible

I love this!!

but comparing them is a no no!

Its like comparing Hardstyle to Delerium, well...not quite.

Posted by Micheline on May-10-2003 10:26:

i will take ur word for it.

North Pole Rocks
South Pole Good but NP better imo

Posted by danceaddict on May-10-2003 12:07:

that's true, but you must admit that north pole sounds a tad cheesy.. south pole beats it by miles in my opinion!

Posted by shao on May-10-2003 21:58:

omg.. what's with the notion that simple = cheese = crap? Solar coaster has to have one of the most simplistic melodoes around and yet it made it pretty damn far in the TA Track of the Year '02!

North Pole could have been an amazing tune, but is ruined by that insanely weak and cheap main lead.Too bad,cos the buildup is amazing.

Shame / Disagreement

Weak? I don't think so. North pole isn't weak. Have you even HEARD it , or are you just trying to build up your post count?

I agree completely with you. even if north pole is still a quality production.

now the slight problem is that there have been already several threads about these tunes

Did you even read my post properly?I said the MAIN LEAD was weak, and that it was a shame that this weak and unimaginative ruined what could've been a great track, thanks to that build up,which is amazing.Start reading properly before you critize somebody's opinion.

Posted by frankie69 on May-11-2003 02:53:

Northpole is definately an exceptionally produced track and i agree that everyone know that some of the best melodies produced are quite simple.

Posted by refuge on May-11-2003 17:59:

this song should definitley be nominated as one of the top 10 tunes of the year. i can't get north pole outta my head.
