How Often do you Spin your Records?
Hey Guys, well... I've been always worried about My Vinyls Life.. ppl says that the Vinyls have life.. that u can play thems many times .... so.. Im playing My new records like 3 or 4 times in a week... .. im a Bedroom DJ now... but should I be wooried that in the time ill go to the club my vinyls will sounds like Crap?... i mean.. I love my records.. and I have spent a lot of money on thems... so.. thats why im worried... by Example: I Always Spin Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness, Silenc, Tremor - Meia Lua, etc... so.. they are almost every time on my sets... im using Trackmaster II SK... at 2.5 gr.
so... how often do u play your records?,,... do u have the same feeling than me? .. will my records die some day??
well.. thats all.. thanks in advance.
offcours the records have a life, but i don't think it will change the quality of the sound, i turn sometimes in a club where the have vinyl of more then 10 years old still sounds good, the only thing i don't think is healthy 4 ya vinyl are backspins and scratches
True, scratches really aren't healthy... cuz then you get a little "kroak" every time your needle comes by the scratch... Also, the needle you're using has a pretty high quality, don't worry about it.
My Hip Hop records, spin them everyday usually......not to concerned about them b/c I have about 2-3 copies of each record.
My electronica records, spin them every now and then......if I know that I am gonna be using the same song over and over again, I usually record it to CD and use the CD.
However, my 20, 30, 40 + dollar records, record them to CD, and keep the record in a safe, climate controlled atmosphere......
Hey, thakns for the replies and Ideas... i hope my records least forever
hey man hate to break it to ya but if your playing in a club there gonna want newer music then stuff that is a year or two old. least thats how it is around here.

oh sorry man i didn't mean to make it sound like i was slammin you. i just have a couple of friends that whenever they play out they play the exact same records every time and it gets old quick so thats what i thought you were doing...my bad
try that vinyl cleaning spray though i use it all the time and it works cuz there isn't any dustbunnies on my needles at the end of a set.

Best thing to use would be GruvGlide. Gets rid of dust, dirt, clicks/pops, distortion, fingerprints, static, and leaves your records spanking shiny like a baby's booty. The bad thing is that this sucker costs $25 (U.S. dollars). It comes with two felt cloth wipes as well. Can be used to clean about 200 records (depending on how much you use per record).
I buy more records than spinning them.
vinyl deteriorates through time aswell, might aswell use them
