Unhappy Bizarre

Hi,
I have to agree..Robert Seems to have lost his roots and has delved into something not remotely connected to trance -p
His latest songs arent any where close to Children Or Fable's class

Robert Miles is a legacy, just like paul van dyk...for an angel had to have been my favorite song by him...he has never met up to my standards since that song...no more good trance by the old quality producer...this has happened to a lot of different producers whom i can not mention right now because the bell for class just rang.

Dancing Dude Robert Miles rocks....

Robert Miles was the one who exposed me to Trance Music...

If it wasn't for him I wouldn't me into this as much as I am, and that is a debt I can't repay...

Personally, I could care less if his new stuff isn't as good (I haven't even heard it yet)...

When I got into it, he was labelled as "Progressive Mediterranean Dream Music" ...How's that for a mouthful?

'Dreamland' easily wins hands down in terms of a 'trance' CD where I loved every single track....that's only been matched since by Oakenfold with 'TrancePort' and Armin's first cd 'Boundaries of Imagination' ... I am one picky ****** - and when I find something that stands above the rest by a mile you'll be sure I jump on it like flies to shit

(lol)

Besides.. his web site kicks major ass..he communicates with his fans... and he gives away free samples/loops to people who are producing music.. he gets 100% props from me

[history...]
During 1996, 1997 when I was heavily into playing Quake online and a part of clans the only CD I ever listened to was this one... I did some insane fragging to it (For any of you hardcore Quakers that may be on here, I beta-tested the first hook in Capture the Flag on Zoid's beta server in Ottawa - he later went on to work for iD)

d00d, it's true he's not into dream trance. i mean, if you know what he's been through, you can understand where he's coming from with this album imo. look at a few of his titles...wrong....separation...it's all coming back....

i'm really enjoyin' his music. it's very refreshing. i've always been into the tribal/soul/jazz/international sounding stuff. miles does exactly that now.

true, it's not trance. but this album does really kick ass if you listen to it technically too. mmm...me likee. it's not everyone's cup of tea though.

fav trackz on Organik: (not in any order)

improvisations (part 2)
trance shapes
paths
separation
endless

Trance music didn't really exist when Dreamland came out... That CD was and is still considered Dream music... so I don't think he ever really did any trance... though he did inspire a lot of trance...

From a technical standpoint it shares elements with melodic trance as well as the uplifting/epic stuff.. Lots of the tracks on that CD had the general build-ups..etc...a few had vocals here and there

'Trance' in 1996 was not what you hear on Dreamland.. that's not what I'm saying.. back then it was mainly dominated by psy-trancey/goa influences....

Smile

hey robert miles and children started most of us onto trance or something near the musical genre. He will always be in most people's list. Now about Paul Van Dyk, he has done so much awesome songs since For An Angel. Beautiful place, forbidden fruit, face to face, avenue, words have not done it for you. well what do you listen to.

All of these tracks you mentioned of PvD were before "For An Angel", they were off the album "Seven Ways" which I seem to remember buying around July 96! The version of "For An Angel" we all know only came out in 1998!
