Nyana - The purchase

so i bought this album today (was released on monday) and id have to say that im WELL impressed with the mixing and tracklisting, well worth the purchase. i could of downloaded it weeks ago, but to me that seems like a kick in the face to the music we love.

Just wondering how many other aussie TA's will support tiesto by buying the album? or will we just keep going on downloading?

Download . . Tiesto has enough money . . .

Posted by escee on May-14-2003 12:25:

download, buy the songs i think should be bought...

and
tiestos mixing for this album is sub par i think. Im not a tiesto basher in the slightest, but some mixes sound very amateurish.

Probably won't buy it,
And probably won't download it either

I don't agree with downloading the full album and then burning it, without intending to buy it or any of the tunes on it. That's so cheap...

is that the same as borrowing with no intent to purchase and burning?

yeah it is, and I don't agree with that either.
and I certainly know what I am because of it...

i feel semi obligated to buy a cd/tune if i really like it or get alot from it.

i have countless tiesto sets and have enjoyed soo much of it, i think its only fair to give something back.

on a side note how good is :
Darren tate vs jono grant - let the light shine in !!!!
i dont know how old this track is , but if its new it sounds like its gunna be huge!

its probably been discussed a million times before as well, but i luuuuurve the melody in nyana, it has such a driving sound to it, + it sounds different to anything tiesto has done before (IMO). any one else like it ?

Posted by escee on May-14-2003 13:36:

i like nyana

sounds very 3 drivesish imo

Is this cd live mixed?

most cd releases are computer mixed.

does anyone know who is distributing this cd in Australia?

shock? universal?

Posted by Spang on May-15-2003 03:15:

Bought my copy yesterday from Sanity. Seeing how i dont download anything anymore i didnt have a choice in the matter.

Cant wait for him to come on down!

Posted by Ghostface on May-15-2003 04:49:

I'd rather pay $35 than wait the hours and hours it would take on my 56k.

He might mix live but im pretty sure all of the CD's which are not designated Live at blah blah are protooled to the max!! Im pretty sure Nyana is protooled, its just too...... i dont know how to describe it..... smooth maybe....

Posted by Boredom on May-15-2003 08:46:

I'd buy if its really good, n only if its really good. (I get bored easily u see ) The only thing is that i don't go shopping much and even then i don't see much stuff out there to buy... maybe i'm looking in the wrong place? Any suggestions? Only place in Perth i know or bother looking in is Sanity.

Nyana's good... but what i really want is another ISOS

Posted by Pointy on May-15-2003 08:48:

Nah mate, Tiesto prides himself on live mixing. All the Magik's are mixed live, as with ISOS and Revolution -- not too sure on Revolution, but it sounds live

Not gonna buy this, nor download it. Tiesto just doesn't do it for me any more

*Pointy cranks up DJ Tiesto - Live at Dance Terminal 1999...THIS IS WHERE IT'S AT!

Posted by Boredom on May-15-2003 08:56:

He does all his mixing live??? Serious? Wow he's even more talented than i thought...

Posted by escee on May-15-2003 09:08:

Yeah tiesto turntable mixes all of his cds.

Posted by webmeister on May-15-2003 10:28:

Nyana doesn't really sound like it's played off turntables, I don't hear any of the snaps or hisses that you get with vinyls...

I downloaded Nyana a couple of weeks back and I'll probably buy it in a few days

Its farken annoying though cos I have a $50 gift voucher for Fish Records, but they are absolutely hopeless with new releases, they still don't have Gatecrasher Resident Transmission 2, and didn't see Nyana in there today either

Posted by Solstice on May-15-2003 10:54:

i bought mine at sanity if that helps webby, they're usually pretty good with all things dance.

Posted by gilmista on May-15-2003 15:43:

Nyana is absolutely awesome - CD1 is great but with CD2... woah! mindblowing - almost feels similar to his 99 set at innercity amsterdam, a CD that i will never let go of !
And to end the second disc with such an incredible track (Solid Globe - North Pole) just tops it all up for me. Fits perfectly into the Tiesto's Majik Journey Sound

I noticed a few off beat mixes in this album and the same in some of the In Search of Sunrise series, but hey... its his own set that I think he wants us to hear as is with no extra computer editting to make it absolutely digitally perfect as some other DJ's do. Anyone can do that.

His track selection and order is just unmatchable, in all albums.

Not long till this hero makes his journey down under. Counting the days..
