Sneaker Pimp the head bob

i was sitting in my friends car the other day and we were listening to pvd - mayday 2003. we were just driving along bobbing our heads to the music and i noticed that we seemed to be out of sync (as opposed to n'sync ). anyway, my question is when you bob your head (if you do at all) do you go forward on the beat or back on the beat?

Posted by mospeedracer on May-15-2003 15:52:

my head is forward on the beat, but that is just me.

Posted by Kamaya on May-15-2003 16:59:

hahahaha!!

havent really thought about this hehe, my head is back on the beat!

greetz, Kamaya.

i go forward,... i guess its from me mockin headbangers back in the day...

Posted by chris_norris on May-15-2003 17:23:

Forward usually.

But depending on how much im enjoying the tune, I might add little "fills" at the end of bars, like sideways or backwards.

Im always noddin along to music.

Same.

Check the 'Bhangra Knights' video out, none of them can nod in time at all

Back on the beat??? That's crazy ! The chin dip should hit it's lowest point right as the beat hits. Maybe it's something like a right hand left hand kinda thing.

Posted by JohnSmith on May-15-2003 20:48:

my fiance always bounces to the music when i mix, she sits on the couch and rocks back and forth to the beat.

the messed up thing is that she goes back on the up beats, not the down beats. it seems backwards to me, when i look at her bouncing at first my brain can't comprehend that the rythm is the same, as i would naturally bounce back on the down beats..

i guess we are in different phase or something, like a double helix.

Posted by Aya Brea on May-15-2003 20:55:

foward... sometimes side to side

Posted by Endlesswave on May-15-2003 21:00:

I tend to do both the head bob up and down and also side to side of I'm feeling it. I don't get how ppl bob when the bass hits with their head up. That is just weirdness.

Posted by Me on May-15-2003 21:18:

I go back on the beats, I too sometimes throw in some of the side to side, going left on the beat.

Posted by Psy-Trancer on May-15-2003 23:17:

forward...and the foot taps da floor lol

Posted by icedale on May-16-2003 00:02:

always forward.
some times some strange forward stuff, like I'm on the dancefloor or sth. Tapping my feet,hm,I have to be into the music to do that. Moving hands to the beat is essential

Posted by Linx_da_cat on May-16-2003 00:10:

definitely forward, how can it be backward?

Posted by igottaknow on May-16-2003 00:18:

I do that sometimes

I also regularly tap my foot at about 140bpm.

I think i heard somewhere that the hip hop crowd tends to bob their head back on the beat. I don't know if this is a stupid stereotype or what.

well, if its aggressive driving music, its usually forward. Put on a hard trance song, its really awkward bobbing your head backwards.

But if its funkier, breakbeatish, its backwards. put on a hiphop song, and think groovy, chilled, relaxed, and you can find it easy to bob backwards.

Thats the way I find it.

same with me, always when i'm listening to music. usually i bob my head even if i'm not listening to anything, just some tunes playing in my head! and people look at me like

my thoughts exactly, you can't bob it backwards, it's just unnatural!
