Tiesto @ Atlanta May 14, 2003 Review

I got to the party around 11:30. A good line was already in the front. There were lots of beautiful people everywhere on a Wednesday night. I could hear the upgraded sound system as I waited outside. Interestingly enough there was a guy wearing a Tranceaddict shirt in front of me. In fact throughout the course of the night, Tranceaddict.com was subject of conversation by various random people.

I really enjoyed Noel Sanger's set, especially towards the end. He was really getting the crowd going. I recognized a track from his set but I'm running on 2 hours sleep because I have work 4 hours after Tiesto. - hrhrhr. You can be sure I'll take a day off for PvD though.

Tiesto came on and the crowd went nuts. He hammered trance all night long. His tracklist featured many tracks from his Nyana CD. I liked his set but it didn't really go anywhere in terms of highs and lows. It was just trance after trance with breakdowns and buildups. The crowd loved it though. Towards the end of his set, the crowd was chanting "Tiesto" which made Tiesto enjoy himself more. You can bet all those people are true Tiesto fans to be partying until 5am on a Wednesday night. Memorable points of the evening was when he dropped Motorcycle - As the rush comes and Conjure One - Tears from the Moon (Tiesto Mix). The sound system in Eleven50 is really good. At the right spot the subwoofers will shake you. All in all, I had a blast. I felt his previous Atlanta set was better however. No track really blew me away and he trainwrecked a few times back to back. I think a record skipped on him. I was hoping he would play Madonna - Die Another Day (Tiesto Mix) but he didn't.

Tracklist as I remember it:
Filterheadz Present Orange 3 - In Your Eyes (Blue Mix)
Catcher - Destiny Sunrise
DJ Tiesto - Nyana
Midway - Inca
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes
DJ Cor Fijneman feat. Jan Johnston - Venus (Tiesto Remix)
Conjure One feat. Sinead O'Connor - Tears From The Moon (Tiesto In Search Of Sunrise Remix)
GTR - Mistral
Solarstone vs. Sirocco - Destination
The Roc Project feat. Tina Arena - Never (Filterheadz Remix)
Solid Globe - North Pole
Smart System - Morgentau (Spring Mix)
Darren Tate vs. Jono Grant - Let The Light Shine In

Here is my review of last night:

Got there around 12:00am. Eveyone was dancing to Noel Sanger, he definitely got the crowd going b4 Tiesto comes on. Somehow I didn't felt Tiesto's set at the beginning but I was dancing my ass off at the end. Like Scott said mixes were shaky at times but Tiesto can trainwreck all day as long as it's trance Little techno and lots of trance, a lot better than last time I've seen him. Play 2 encores at the end........have not idea what they were

Highlight of the night:
Nyana.......the synths are still stuck in my head
As the rush comes............track of the year!!!!

Great vibe throughout the whole night. Lots of ppl yelling Tiesto and clapping their hands..............Tiesto was smiling and dancing the whole time, I've never seen Tiesto like that in Atlanta b4

Overall people and sound system were definitely great at Eleven50. PvD should be in great when he plays there on July.

Adding to Scott's tracklist:
DJ Tiesto- Lethal Industry
DJ Tiesto- Nyana (?? Remix)
Darren Tate and Mike Koglin presents Cola- Waiting
William Orbit - Barber's Adagio For Strings (Tiesto Rework/Remix)
Vitalic - La Rock 01
Filterheadz Present Orange 3 - In Your Eyes (Blue Mix)
Catcher - Destiny Sunrise
DJ Tiesto - Nyana
Midway - Inca
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes
DJ Cor Fijneman feat. Jan Johnston - Venus (Tiesto Remix)
Conjure One feat. Sinead O'Connor - Tears From The Moon (Tiesto In Search Of Sunrise Remix)
GTR - Mistral
Solarstone vs. Sirocco - Destination
The Roc Project feat. Tina Arena - Never (Filterheadz Remix)
Solid Globe - North Pole
Smart System - Morgentau (Spring Mix)
Darren Tate vs. Jono Grant - Let The Light Shine In

Maybe the new remix of Nyana is the mike remix? Not sure though. Glad you 2 guys had fun though.

Got in around 11:45 and Noel Sanger had the crowd dancing and going crazy. He was definitely better this time than at Riviera. The club was packed and Tiesto was incredible except for when the record skipped on him twice. Other than that, the place went nuts the entire evening. The highlight of my night was when TIJS dropped Beachball!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I hadn't heard that song in years.

By the way, I have been to many clubs and I honestly felt that the soundsystem at Eleven50 was better than the Phazon at Roxy!!!!!

The only problem with Eleven50 is that it feels like you are in a sauna. I wish they would crank the air up a little more.

I can't even imagine how good PVD will be at Eleven50.

hiyas! Sorry this is so long after the show but my account had to be activated. The Tiesto show here was awesome. That show had one of the best vibes have have felt in Atlanta in a very long time. It was such a joy that I got to the show after thinking beforehand I wasn't going to be there. Atlanta should have move trance shows because damn they isn't enough here to feed my trance addiction.

Welcome to the TA forum LeeAnn. Good to see fellow Atlanteans in the boards.

Glad you liked Tiesto. Did you see him last time he was here?

If you're craving a trance party, wait for Paul van Dyk, July 22nd. =D It's going to be 10x better than Tiesto!

Posted by MunkyAngel on May-19-2003 18:40:

sure did. i have seen him everytime he has been here since 2001

Which set did you like best?

Posted by MunkyAngel on May-19-2003 19:46:

it's a toss up between his set at nv and 1150 with his riveira set close to those two. but i enjoyed the 1150 show more because i wasn't crowded in the club so it made it more enjoyable this time. (we stayed outside most of the night)

Man, this show was bad ass. I know this is quite late but I just moved and had no internet connection for a week.

I went nuts when he playd Lethal Industry. I was hoping he'd play that but I wasn't counting on it.

While I was in line an SUV pulled up right where I was standing and Tiesto was sitting in the backseat!! I was telling everyone in line around me that that was Tiesto and they didn't believe me. I was like, "I'm 100% sure that's him. It's him, I know." Then he gets out and we just looked at each other as he passed, I patted him on the back, and just said something dumb like "Yeah!" Someone was carrying his record case as they rushed him through to the back door. Tiesto was all smiles though even when he was sitting in the car right by the line.
