CRASH sounds

hey guys...

ive got a question... everybody uses CRASH in tracks.... i mean...that percussion sound that u put at the beginning of an 8th sometime... something kinda like THIS

also... i reverse it soemtimes...and put it before the actual CRASH... you know what im talking about right?

well... now... in every track i make, i really dont wanna use that CRASH sound...coz it sounds very simple, and very cheesy... i wanna use some weird explosions or... some other sounds...

is there like....a certain soft synth for that? ...or maybe someone knows where to get the samples on the NET?

thanks

I would try knocking back a few pints, getting in your car and driving at variable speeds towards a tree or some other immovable inanimate object. Make sure to have a good mic and do it at different speeds so you can have a velocity layered crash. This is how the pros do it.

Sorry, I just had to.

Try grabbing a kick, reversing it, reverbing it. You know the deal yeah. You then reverse it back and you get a lead up to the kick. Well then give it more reverb so that it has a really messy tail to it as well. So you now have a build up to a kick, the kick, and then the decaying tail.

Now run it through a low pass filter to get out the high frequencies. You end up with this rumbling build up and expolision. I imagine you could do this with crashes and various other sounds as well.
