[INFO] Guide on the tranceaddict chat room
Server: irc.webchat.org chan: #tranceaddicts for those of you who have a irc client.
Right i was a bit bored and saw a few threads recently asking about the chat room, so hers a step by step guide, hope it works ok!
1. Download mirc from www.mirc.com
2. Install mirc and run mirc
3. Uncheck the circled text box, and close the small message box by clicking on the x
4. Enter in your name, email (i suggest a web based service like hotmail, to reduce spam), nickname and an alternative (i suggest using your nickname with a _ or ^ on the end of it)
5. From the drop down list select the webnet random server
6. Select options, i suggest the following settings: enable "conect on start up" & "reconect on disconection", and disabling "popup conect dialog on start up"
7. Select the perform options, tick the "enable perform on connect" tick box. Click on the "add" button and select "webnet" and press ok
8. If the drop down box to the left of the "add" button doesnt change to say "webnet" select it from the drop down list. In the perform box type "/umode -M" and press enter
9. Click on "ok" on the main options.
10. Mirc should then conect to the irc server, if you do not see a load of text appear then try closing mirc and opening it again.
11. Now hopefully you will be conected to the server, you need to register your nickname (its not necessart but recomended)
12. To do this type "/msg nickserv register MypassworD [email protected]" replacint the email and password for your own
13. Up to 15 minuts later a email will arive asing you to verify it, in the email will be instructions on how to verify your nickname.
14. After verifying your nickname goto "file-options" and select the "perform" option
15. After the "/umode -M" line write the following "/ns identify MypassworD" obviousley replacing MypassworD for your password. This will save you having to identify your self manually when you load mirc up.
16. After the "/ns identify MypassworD" write "/join #tranceaddicts"
17. The folowing script can be added as well, as at random times the nickname process asks for the nicknames to be identified again, this script will identify your nick automacally, replacing password for your own obviousley. (thanks to ProjectT for this
