partying at a young age

alright, so i'm 16...what is the age that most events (like Sensation for instance) require to get in? and what do they allow/not allow, ie drugs, alcohol, etc. ?

Also....since most places won't let you in till you're 18, what is a lil bastard like me to do till i turn 18?

Come to Toronto. There's a club here called Viva. So far they've brought Johan Gielen (twice). Matt Hardwick, Scott Bond, Marco V, Talla 2XLC, Orkidea, John "00" Fleming and more I can't remember. It's 16+.

and legal age here is 19, not 21

Posted by torontotrance on May-18-2003 03:44:

then again, any NON trance dj plays a 19+ club.

19? how random is that, why not 18?, where the rest of world considers you an adult (sides america of course)

I just don't agree with American on: you can be made to die for your country (drafted at 18+), but you can't have a beer until 21+.

Hell, I am drinking a rum and coke right now at 19.

exactly, i want out of this shit hole, its not like the law prevents teenage drinking AT ALL! i can get alcohol so fast and im 16, i can get any drug i want in a few phone calls, so what is the Fucking point of holding us away from clubs, all i get from this is, you must be 21 to listen to house, trance, and techno at the propper wattage... I'd never fight for this country, i'd jump ship long before that haha

I think 16+ is a reasonable age for clubs. I mean if your old enough to kill yourself with a 1 ton metal contraption at breakneck speeds, why cant you enjoy music in a club? I can understand certain clubs that serve alcohol, or maybe wanting an older atmosphere. But fuck, where I live (Atlanta), ANYTHING worth going to is almost certainly 18+. Just about any teenager can tell you that the difference between 16 and 18 doesnt bring a lot more maturity to the table. Hell, a lot of 16 year olds (or younger) I know are FAR more mature than even many fully grown adults I know. Besides, dont the bouncers get paid to remove fucktards anyways?

And if you think it does shit to "keep kids away from drugs and alcohol" then youd be kidding yourself.

oh and note to self: move to toronto

The reason they dont want people going to clubs at a young age is not all about the drinking. Its that the people who own these clubs are usually older and dont want their 16 year old daughter getting fucked by some dirt bag 25 year old.

i've only gotten id'd once in germany and that was b/c i had my id out an was standing behind a guy that looked like he was 14.

Or you can come to Croatia where you can buy alcohol or go to almost all parties and noone will ever ask you for your age. On the other hand, parties here pretty much suck, but that's another story.

I wouldn't want to go clubbing with a load of 16 year olds. Sorry, I know maturity isn't just about age and I'm not saying the younger people on these forums are immature, but your average 16 year old is not somebody I'd like to share a nightclub with.

In Israel if you want to go to quality event or club which brings big names you have to be at least 22+

Lol, i'm remembering yesterday... We had to work for school in the weekends for some event. And, they were serving beer. Our shift was done at 12:30 in the evening, so everybody was almost gone, except a few of us were still there. And, there was this little bar that was deserted. But, the refrigerators were still there, unguarded. So, curious as I am, went to see if there was still any beer in. Guess what.. IT WAS FULL OF BEER. I started yelling: FREE BEER!!!and a few of use started taking all the beer our, and taking it home. 15 minits later, all the beer was gone leaving the refrigerator empty... 2 hours later, we already had consumed a large part of the beer we stole
It's just funny...

Here, in belgium, the minimum age for everything (except gambling) is 18. For alcohol, it's 16+

if you wanna go to a club then go to one that is all ages or one that is 16-22. i am guessing the reason why that most clubs are 18+ is because if a 22 year old guy plays around with a 16 year old chick it is rape and i think that is what they are tring to avoid.

Haha... USA. Here, the legal age of consent is 14, so that doesn't really apply. I think the age is 15 in many European countries.

Ah yes the legal age of consent is 14 or 15 its 14 in canada too but that only applies to between two people who are both under the legal age(18 etc). Satutory rape is when anyone over the legal age has sex with a person who is under said age.

Party at home with your friends. Or, go to all ages events...Haven't you ever heard of the legal drinking age? It's there for a reason.
