more action pleeezz...

Do you guys feel the same way about this?...the more TA's...the duller the forums! All these threads that have been on for like 5 times already...all those questions....

I'd like to see some more action here!!! Or is it just me?

bye-a fowks......

Posted by Mark on Jun-07-2001 21:32:

heh unfortunately thats the way it works. you would think that with more people, we can get into more interesting discussions. Not quite the case. Since the new people just came in, they obviously haven't read the older posts and therefore will post up the same shit that we have read many many times already. i think from the time that i've been at tranceaddict, i have seen atleast 25-30 fave tunes threads easily. most likely even more since i don't keep count or anything.

ACtion eh? ..what type of action you talking about ? hehe
ahhh, ya well, im going to have to agree with you 100%.. ive seen the same damn posts up forever..ESPICIALLY the soccer one, that thing's been there for ages alrady! christ! moderater pull the plug on the poor beasty! ....
.. soo as for a new topic missy,
hrm...choose something, iom doing a research project right now and cant think up anything hehe

ps: you know what also pisses me off? blatant reply's...some reply's are just .. or ..or just like 3 words, or just gibberish, adn nonsense to further the posts.. it pollutes good threads..=(

Posted by cyberia on Jun-07-2001 21:43:

Well ftnb about that soccer thread it's one and only official one hehe but why should this thread be deleted, all rite every time some one posts something there it's a the top of the list, but you know wut's in there so just don't open itand it's not that every time a newbie comes right in there is a new soccer thread, that's what happens with the favourit tune thread ,anyways those threads don't bother me ...

well not every newbie does this. most of the newbies are all cool and i don't really consider you to be a newbie anymore. its been 3 months already. i'm just saying that whenever an overused thread like those fave tunes threads come up, its not a surprise that a newbie started it. i'm not annoyed by those threads at all really.

Exclamation

Well, what the hell is wrong with "favorite tune" posts???
That's like the whole point of this forum, to exchange and share the news in trance music! Stuff like "jokes" and "chill-out" is secondary, the most important thing is TRANCE MUSIC!

So what if there are like hundreds of these posts, every day there comes out a new trance single (potentially a hit) that we'd all like to know about, for example that's how people -- including me -- find out about new songs!

That's the way it's supposed to be, in a trance music forum... I have to tell you, thanks to these "fave tunes" posts, I've discovered a lot of tunes that are now my favorites too, and otherwise I would never have found out about them.

So there's nothing wrong with that, on the contrary... That's why I like this forum!!!

I think people are bothered by the fact that as soon as a new member arrives, they post a "what yer fav. tune" thread...when there are already several out there....that's all.

I dont care whats posted as long as it is in good taste and I can respond to it.

Posted by DRM on Jun-07-2001 22:36:

On the fav track threads subject i think that all time fav ones are really annoying cuz every1 loves those songs but the new fav songs ones are fine cuz it gives peeps a oportunity to see the new tunes and then go get them.

So fucking what?? If there are SO MANY people, as you say, who post their "favorite tunes," what's the probability of you learning of a new song you haven't heard before? Much greater! And that's the whole point of a forum... Do you know what "forum" means? It's when people enrich each other from learning each other's ideas! There is nobody here, not even the best DJ's, who know every single trance tune out there. Especially the brand-new ones.

As for Ms. OctoPUSSY Proximus, the starter of this thread...
Ever heard of "middle-life crisis"?
That's the "650-post blues" you're now experiencing LOL

And finally: We all want to get rid of useless threads, well the best way to do that is not to start one in the first place

Yes I do feel the same way! I'm always whinging about "Fav Threads" & what I think of them, and you're right, it's always with new people...Why? because some (not all) don't know a thing about Trance and post Fav threads so they can get insight into what's good. They don't really care what or why the track is their fav. But the thing that annoys me over that, is that there are already how many threads open of this type, and they blatantly and ignorantly put in a new thread anyway!!!!!! Aaaarrrrghh! Doesn't anyone know forum etiquette these days?

Posted by Eugene on Jun-07-2001 22:53:

Lightbulb

If you close down all the "fave tunes" threads, the forum will lose its friendly-interaction atmosphere, in which a healthy exchange of news and ideas in trance music takes place in a natural and mutually enriching way. That's all I'm gonna say on this subject.

yea this gets me too.. some ppl cant read. in the main forums god knows how many posts go by.. and yeah there are 3 mods in the main ones but we cant cover everything, the speed the forums move at sometimes is insane, uve all seen the stupidly high stats

another one that pisses me off is "help posting a pic" threads... there is a page that tells u how to use the vB code etc... its called HELP and it is on the new reply form...

Peace

I agree, more and more the same threads. over and over again congrats threads and newbie threads, sig threads, picture threads. But I don't complain, i still enjoy it here

Posted by Miss Proximus on Jun-08-2001 09:26:

Jeez Eugene...don't mean to flame you or anything...but why do you get so pissed? I am talking about this in general...not specifically to you dood...

and you say we can learn from those fav tune threads...hell..I don't!!! Most people post tunes that are old..or in the hitlists already!! I can't learn from that...I can only learn from peeps that actually post NEW and ORIGINAL shit!

but I guess some peole do learn from it..and yer right...that's a good thing...
