that's a joke...

that webpage is so far damned left the NDP wouldn't even let them run...

i mean, read the about 'what's left', he totally reiterates his left wing stance!

he does raise interesting points but in the end i think it's totally biased to the fact that even middle right wing policies to this guy would be 'extreme right'.

i agree, it's biased. but bias is inherent and inescapable in opinion pieces like this. and with the biased news these days, we need a counter balance.

This actually reminded me of an opinion piece I read yesterday that was from the Boston Globe (I think?) where the author was talking about how the average American isn't concerned, and is just happy being a 'winner' again in war.

Basically her whole point was that these kinds of issues *should* be riling people up, but instead people are just basking in the triumph over the evil dictator, and are now willing to quietly acquiesce to the Bush company line that the war was justified on the grounds that Saddam was a nasty guy by itself.

The thing that bothers me right now is that normal people on the street *aren't* bothered by the whole implications of this new pre-emptive strike with no real hard justification policy. Normal people *aren't* clamoring for evidence of the weapons or out for the president's head; and that seems to herald more of this kind of 'preventative measure' being used in the future.

Many in this country are vocally saying that they hope things will change back either in 2004 or 2008. Personally, I'm of the opinion that Bush will win re-election in a landslide, and that unless something drastic happens you're going to see this 'new' (aka: blatantly Roman) America be around for quite some time, which means it's my cue to leave as soon as possible.

Agree 100%. I drew the line where the article started making comparisons to Nazi Germany, but I would like more critical analyses such as this in the american media.

Hey, I'm doing my part. The problem is, many people are uneasy even discussing this with me. They don't wanna hear it to the point where they want me to shut up. I need to go on public access TV and start a talk show! Of course, with some of the things I would say, the FBI would hunt me down like a dog, drug me up and force me to make a public retraction or something. That or they'd feed me ungodly ammounts of acid and have me comitted for life upstate.

i agree. maybe all of us activists, anti-patriots, and anarchists (such as myself) should end up leaving this country cuz in a few years were gonna be hunted down. its just sickening
