Exclamation Al Qaeda Mega-Strike against Israel Thwarted

quote:
Al Qaeda Mega-Strike against Israel Thwarted

The terrorist mega-attack against which Israeli security - like the US, Britain, Australia and other western powers has been on high alert since Tuesday, May 20, almost happened this week.

On Monday, May 19, Saudi authorities detained three Moroccan al Qaeda suspects at Jeddah international airport just as they were preparing to board a Saudi national airlines plane bound for Sudan. While Saudi security sources claimed the next day that the men planned to hijack the Saudi plane and crash it over Jeddah, DEBKAfiles exclusive counter-terror sources reveal that, under interrogation, the suspected al Qaeda terrorists admitted they had intended flying the captive Saudi airliner over Israel and crashing it over an Israeli city.

That first Saudi announcement claimed the suspects carried knives and their last testaments. The Saudis make it a habit never to mention Israel in the context of al Qaedas attacks even one which they thwarted. Then, Wednesday evening, May 21, Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef denied there had been any hijack plot. He said two not three Moroccans had been detained in connection with previous security cases.

According to DEBKAfiles sources, neither Saudi version is correct. The terrorists were not just armed with knives but were loaded with explosives, and there were three of them, not two.

The high alert declared in Israel Tuesday also placed the Israeli Air Force on roundthe-clock patrol to guard against hijackers reaching Israeli skies to attack Israeli towns.

Seems very believable to me.

What do you guys think... speculation, or the inside scoop?

Seemed very believable to me until this came out.

I don't know what to believe anymore.

Once again, now DO YOU believe when some of us said that the War Against Iraq will cause even more attacks, and instead of wasting time on Iraq, it would've been well used for looking for those Al Quaeda people?!?!?!? AAAAAAAHH??

Although we don't know that these attacks would NOT have happened had the war with Iraq hadn't occurred. It would be erroneous to imply causality since we don't know when these operations were planned or the objective of the attacks.

Yes I know, my point is to ratify the statement of going after Al Quaeda 100% instead of wasting a humongous amount of money and the lost of many lives over Iraq. Who knows, been after Al Quaeda, althought the US was still after them during the war, the way they were doing it and the effects were much different. And, who knows, most likely, prevent such things. And, since the war started, the hatred against the Americans and Israel, is been justified by the outcomes...

Simple, the war on Iraq has caused more suffering than it's alleviated, hence, terrorist claims of America taking over for oil, not really caring about arab interests and so on become justified, easier to recruit new people.

Yes Im sorry, what I was trying to say is, the US attacked, and since Israel was one of the allies, which by the way is very hated in the middle east, went on the campaign to attack Iraq because of the weapons. Since none have been found and because of all the agression, more hatred has been built up, so it just justifies the terrorists (not that Im saying it's justified, but as a way of saying for THEM) to attack and retaliate back in some way, as they warned. It's not like we didn't know. Some theories of bringing Saddam down will bring peace to Middle East and Israel is started to get badly proven wrong, with all the sudden rise of attacks and threats. Bush now is back onto fighting and lurking for terrorists, what did the war with Iraq help?!?! .. it helped his buddies and his wallet.

debka = big time

The story is possible, but Debka has often been proved to give out false information so I wouldn't trust them much.

Posted by rupert on May-22-2003 12:09:

It sounds plausible enough. The Israelis can hide behind their pathetic wall (built on Palestinian territory) but it wont save them.

It is only a matter of time before something major happens to Israel.

Walls have never saved anyone in history, not for long anyway. The Chinese, the Romans, the French, the East German they all put up walls and it didnt work for them.

Someone once said the four most costly words in the English language are "This time its different"

Such as what.... i've followed debka for a number of years now and could honestly say that most times they hit the nail right in the coffin.

So many counless times i've read something on Debka and a few days later or even a week i'd see it in the mainstream news.

Once again, you say they have given out false information... please let me in on what it is you found to be 'false'.

I'd like to hope your talking about a real and everlasting peace in the region! A day when the Arab world puts down their arms in their (how you say...) 'pathetic', murderous fight against innocent Israelis who have every moral, legal, historical, and religious right to their lands!

It been working for some time now between Greece and Turkey.

i wouldnt say that it is false(well, not completely at least), but more like edited for the general public- kinda like a half-lie.

and why should a single nation claim a land in the name of anything?
why does national and/or personal property even matter?
i say we all adopt the native american philosophy where the land belongs to everybody.

I stated it for the simple reason that many people use religion as a justifiable means for arguing a case; when it comes to the land of Israel.

yeah i know, but that wasnt a result of communism(i myself do not have any problem with communism whatsoever), but rather a result of the fools that took advantage of the possibilities adn manipulated the gov. and thus communism was so easily corrupted. kinda sad how stalin and lenin adn all those other mutha fuckas tried to eliminate the people's problems, but instead they fucked up and as a result millions died and the people were oppressed.
