Question 1210 owners with ortofon/stanton carts

i have 1210's and have bought some stanton trackmasters (or groovemasters, forgot which one) II RM's... but after setting the correct ride height, counter weight and stuff, upon cueing up a record, the needle jumps like crazy. Even stanton 500SL's track better.

But I have tried them on vestax/numark TT's straight arm decks and they work fine. Not sure if these kinda needles are made for straight arms only, or i should be getting the scratch only version. Surely I shouldn't need to apply additional weight to the carts?

Picture this, when rocking the record back and forth, u can physically see the needle moving sideways very violently. Not sure if its the needles or decks, either way, prob put them up on ebay or sommat, worth almost 240quid as well...

Best bet is to get in contact with where you brought them from, tell them what your problem is and see what they say.

They shouldn't be jumping around like they are. What settings have you got your Techies at? The straight/s-shaped tonearm thing shouldn't be a problem, the carts should work on both.

Unless you're planning on doing some maniac scratching, you shouldn't need scratch specific carts for Trance.

People are too submissive when it comes to business. Kick up a fuss, complain, annoy people. We're doing them a favour by spending our money on their products, not the other way round. Ring them back, say that you've done everything in the manual, tried all their suggestions and it's still fcked up. You're within your legal rights to get an exchange or refund if the product doesn't work how it should do. If they say "well you haven't got it set up right" then you've got the defence that you did exactly as they told you to and it's still not right. If they still won't do anything hit them with the "I'm taking my custom else where, and you'll be hearing from my solicitors about this shortly".
